  I built this computer because I want to play modern games at 4k@120Hz and I also need to run code/simulation for my research... I built this computer because I want to play modern games at 4k@120Hz and I also need to run code/simulation for my research and my laptop simply is not fast enough. I built this computer with upgradability in mind, so when choosing parts, I made sure that they will be compatible for the years to come, and that's why I choose the new AM5 platform (supported till at least 2025 according to AMD) with DDR5 and PCIE gen5 support. Cost is another great factor. I am still a student and have limited budget, so I choose Microcenter for the most expensive parts because it offers very generous discount (especially for Ryzen 7000 series!!!) Now my computer is without graphics card, but I am planning to pick up a Radeon 7900xtx soon at Microcenter tomorrow!

I am a first-time pc builder and a lifelong mac user, so starting the pc building process was a daunting task! I wanted a desk setup that was powerful enough to handle anything I could throw at it including games at 4k. As a mac user I never really got a chance to play games bc of platform issues, so I really want to play through games like the Halo series, God of War, and some competitive games like Overwatch. It took me literally forever to figure out how to build a pc but in hindsight I wish I spent more time figuring out how to cable manage while building the thing. But honestly I was so stressed during the building process because I was worried whether or not it would even turn on... so I don't really mind that the wires look crazy lol. I'm glad I had help from employees at Microcenter while building this otherwise I'm not sure I would have even been able to put together something that turned on.

It started life as a 3900x/5700xt system but I had endless USB issues with the x570 board. Swapped the 3900x for a 10900KF and it's been perfect ever since. I've also upgraded to a 6950XT Red Devil.

I have been a PC gamer since 1988, and have been building my own PC's for almost 30 years. Recent games I've been playing are Days Gone, The Accent, Red Dead Redemption II, Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition & Control. I don't really have any future upgrades for the rig planned, but I am working on replacing the desk, doing some serious cable management and apparently some dusting after looking at my pictures I submitted.
