A build based around the open box case I got from Microcenter and trying out the AM5 platform. Minimal RGB as well! As for the Yor on the name, she is a character from Spy X Family with black and red as her colors and gold or white for accents depending on the time of day. I couldn't find budget gold extension cables so I tried out the white and red from AsiaHorse. Not too bad, but 20-20 hindsight, it doesn't match too well with the theme but does add a bit of contrast to the build. I like the spacious interior of the O11 Evo Dynamic, especially when I try out different air coolers. But one major downside for me about this case is the weight. I may try out the Y40 from Hyte next as I've learned that I prefer compact cabinets. Although the 7950x is super efficient at full load compared to the likes of the 13900k and such, it eats power even during idle. I used to have 5-10W idle and 10-20W when watching a stream or videos on my 12700k while I get 30-40W on idle and 50-70W watching videos on my 7950x. Overall a fun experience learning such things on the AM5 platform. I used to be also a first gen adopter with the Ryzen 7 1700x, but this is a way better experience. If you are just gaming, 7700x is your best bet. If you want to dabble with streaming, the 13600k/intel counterpart may be a better choice for you as the iGPU can be used to stream and get way less performance hit even compared to Nvidia's NVENC encoders. The 7700x is a fairly decent CPU for streaming too and there is no wrong choice, choose any of the platforms, do your research, and enjoy the HECK out of your gaming machine!$2,008.93 -

I might upgrade to custom cables for the power supply since the included 8-pin cables for the graphics card were split into two 8-pin connectors at the end, which made cable management a bit less tidy.$1,584.91 -

I intend to use this for more than 7 years, so I got more of the higher end and latest parts to last me longer. I also got my PhD and have a decent paying job now, I wanted to spurge a bit. This rig uses the AM5 Ryzen 7900X and the PowerColor RX 7900XT. I got the Ryzen 7900X + G.Skill Flare X5 for $440 along with a Gigabyte Aorus Pro AX for $240 from Microcenter which was an amazing deal. I wanted RGB RAM though, so I also purchased the G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM from Microcenter. First time living near a Microcenter but I'm glad I did when I decided to build a rig. Note that the Arctic Freezer 2 360 AIO does not fit on top in the Corsair 5000X but I zip-tied it and it seems fairly stable, surprisingly. Also, the XFX Merc319 6800XT in the boxes is not used since I got the RX7900XT.$2,203.91 -

Major upgrade from Intel i7 4770k / GTX 1080 rig to more future proof AM5 platform. This machine will be great for WFH / Gaming. I work in 3D / 2D design, and fast Zen 4 and RDNA 2 combo will definitely improve the speed and fluidity of the workflow. The free DDR5 and mobo discount deal with Zen 4 from Microcenter really encouraged this upgrade as well!$1,579.94 -

Imagine you want to build a new pc with the Torrent Compact case with rgb but you dislike the glass rear panel, what can you do? My Idea: Order the white non-rgb version with solid rear and purchase additional rgb fans to replace all the existing fans. This is what I did and I already received some of my hardware order, when - for me - some Christmas miracle happened. :) A full white rgb version with solid rear panel got recently released, without black accents it looks much cleaner and you save a lot money too, what else to ask for? I cancelled my orders and purchased this new case and the new white rgb fans as well to go all in this time. The temperatures are great without rear fan but I think I will add a 120 mm one, because it is quite dark in this area.$3,056.92 -

I jumped on the $350 7700X Black Friday bundle at Microcenter to start my Winter 2022 build. I wanted to do a white build with black accents for this gaming rig and hence call this my 'Panda' build. I will be using this rig to play F1, Apex Legends and Overwatch. I initially bought a 6700XT for this build but got a bad gpu unit unfortunately which didn't work out of the box, so replaced that with my old 2060 for now.$1,456.96
