This was a build that me and my brother did together and with the release of Ark 2 next year, we wanted a pc that would be able to run it. Also, we never had a gaming pc, so this is our first one and we thought we’d get a fairly high end pc to make it worth the while. Another reason my and my brother built this PC was because I wanted to get better at 3d modeling and animation in blender. Before building the computer, I was working on an intel I5 MacBook and it was cutting it, so I was really excited to get a computer to learn more things. I’m also thinking of doing YouTube on the PC and start a gaming channel, and maybe try a bit of streaming at some point. As of now, our build has been completed for about two weeks and it runs at good temperatures and it’s powerful. The games we have so far are mostly free games like valorant and rocket league, but we also have minecraft and Green Hell, but we’re thinking of getting Inside The Backrooms and Valheim.

The parts included are high end intended to play games on all ultra settings for the near future. I can't wait to play Halo Infinite, Elden Ring and upcoming games such as Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield. Learning points for me was 1) the iCUE 100i water cooling kit comes with a commander core. 2) 3 pin case fans are not compatible with the commander core and are generally harder to control. I ended up returning the extra commander core I bought and swapped out the 3 pin iCue fans with 4 pin icue fans. 3) If downloading Windows 11, check the motherboard manufacturing site on how to install! You may need to enable TPM in the bios setting

I initially planned to upgrade an old HP Compaq for gaming and to use graphic design software. I intend to play Overwatch, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, Splitgate and more. For graphic art I'm mainly interested in digitizing embroidery files and want to make stickers and pins. After getting some help, I realized it would probably be better to build from scratch. I would have loved to keep my original case since I painted it pink and cut out a Jigglypuff silhouette but the CPU cooler and graphics card were too wide to fit. I do like the sleeker look of the new case but in hindsight I should have waited until I had the parts before customizing the case. I did go back to the store a week after building the PC to get more RAM more for cosmetic reasons than needing an extra 16gb. It took about 5 hours to build because I would rearrange how the things were and connecting the rgb cables was a bit confusing. Cable management wasn't too difficult but involved a lot of reworking how I initially connected everything. Next time I'll work on Cable management as I'm building. In general, I should have done more research before starting the build process because it would not turn on when I had finished. I realized one of the power cables was not fully plugged in after checking the cables for everything else first. In the end, it was a fun project and I inspired my boyfriend to want to build a gaming PC for himself.

I have always been a gamer, ever since i first picked up an N64 controller. Ever since then i have played every single console that has come out to this date. But one in particular that i wasn't able to obtain was a PC powerful enough to handle major games. This year was finally the year. I decide go hard, or go home and bought only quality pieces. I wanted a Pc that could handle games that are to come out for the next 10 years. I don't want to have to spend another dollar on a console that is not at peek performance, because they want to be able to up sale me in the future. Well no thank you, I just up sold myself And now I am in love.

I wanted to build a machine that would play games on high graphics, serve as my first programming machine, and display as a piece of artwork. Believe it or not, this was my first self built pc. I play Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II, Warcraft III, and Team Fortress 2. Some old favorites are Runescape, Maplestory, Neopets, Delta Force Black Hawk Down, and Dune 2000. I just began learning the Python coding language. I would like to be involved with the coding community to create tools that will improve the world. I wish there were more affordable RGB GPUs on the market. The few problems I had were identifying what screws went to what on the Thermaltake Core P3, figuring out where to plug the pump into the motherboard, and having to get a Molex SATA adapter for the pump power. I do not take any credit for the Aida64 Sensor Panel idea from which I followed a guide on YouTube. I did custom pixel the corn and mask on the sensor.

The main use for this rig will Freelance UX/UI Design with a little bit of gaming as well. I've been a Mac user for 15 years and only used PC off and on to casually game. Now that I work-from-home almost exclusively and 2012 was the last time you could buy an upgradable Macbook Pro, I've decided to jump ship and move to something I can actually upgradable and more powerful. I'm very pleased with this setup, it has lots of power, memory, and storage. I am able to have tons of design applications and browser windows open with no performance issues. Now I just need to get used to Window's CTRL vs Mac's CMD which is in the same spot as ALT. The first day using this for my design work I hit ALT+Z about 400 times which brings up Geforce Experience overlay. LOL I built this computer using Micro Center's Custom PC Builder, reserved my parts online, and picked up my parts hours later. Pretty cool being able to put together a complete build and pick up your parts the same day. The Custom PC Builder has compatibility filters so it only shows parts that will work together based on your selections. Although build this computer myself because I really enjoy the building process. For a small fee, Micro Center offers a building service which they will put together the hardware, and make sure it posts. For a bit extra cost they can even install Windows, appropriate drivers, and make sure it's up and running before you pick it up. You could literally pick out your parts on a lunch break and pick up a working computer after work, they just need a 4-hour window to build it.
