This is primarily a working computer (for personal business) however also for some gaming on the side. I used the same case I had before from a previous build 8 years ago, as well as the same old PSU (400W) and for the GPU, I used a GTX 1050 that I purchased about 5 years ago. So all in all, it was about $430 (with tax) for a computer that now is much faster and more stable, especially for the things I use it for now. (I have a better laptop for gaming). Without the RAM or with cheaper RAM it'd be even less of course. Note, if you buy the same processor, a separate GPU will be required as this CPU doesn't have it's own graphics. Note, the motherboard is indeed Windows 11 compatible but you need to turn on the TPM in the BIOS (it's off by default). It's pretty easy to do though. Asus shows you how on the support website. You'll note from the picture(s) that I also have an old wifi adapter in there. Also from the previous 8 year old build (but for faster DL speeds probably want a newer one of those). The mobo comes with a nice suite of software but you don't have to install it of course. There's one called AI Suite 3 that gives some fan/cpu info, as well as other things, also installs a quick interface on the desktop (that can be exited out of if desired) to quickly control fan speed. Also there's an "Armory Crate" from ASUS that does pretty much the same thing(s) so I'm not sure why have both. (?). The screenshot is from the Armory Crate where you can fine tune to your heart's desire. Also update drivers etc as desired (I just let Windows do most of that I'm not into overclocking and such especially for a build like this). Anyway, still kind of neat to check on occasion to make sure fans running well etc. My goal was to build a cheap computer that would perform well enough for the next 2-5 years. I think I've achieved this goal.

I initially planned to upgrade an old HP Compaq for gaming and to use graphic design software. I intend to play Overwatch, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, Splitgate and more. For graphic art I'm mainly interested in digitizing embroidery files and want to make stickers and pins. After getting some help, I realized it would probably be better to build from scratch. I would have loved to keep my original case since I painted it pink and cut out a Jigglypuff silhouette but the CPU cooler and graphics card were too wide to fit. I do like the sleeker look of the new case but in hindsight I should have waited until I had the parts before customizing the case. I did go back to the store a week after building the PC to get more RAM more for cosmetic reasons than needing an extra 16gb. It took about 5 hours to build because I would rearrange how the things were and connecting the rgb cables was a bit confusing. Cable management wasn't too difficult but involved a lot of reworking how I initially connected everything. Next time I'll work on Cable management as I'm building. In general, I should have done more research before starting the build process because it would not turn on when I had finished. I realized one of the power cables was not fully plugged in after checking the cables for everything else first. In the end, it was a fun project and I inspired my boyfriend to want to build a gaming PC for himself.

I built this rig with my friends on my 14th birthday and I built it for school and gaming. I usually play valorant and terraria. I really enjoy this pc because it can handle most things I throw at it, and it is definitely an upgrade from the clunky old 2012 macbook I used previously. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten a better gpu like the 1660 super instead of the 1650 super, because it would pair better with the cpu. I do really love this build and the process of watching countless videos from ltt, bitwit, jayztwocents, and gamers nexus to understand how pcs work and what parts to get. I would definetly build a pc again, wether it be for a friend or for fun, it was a great experience.

Past: I’ve had a passion for building computers ever since I was a freshman in high school. Since then, I would stay up nights watching BitWit and Linus. After countless hours, I finally decided on the parts I’ll infuse into my dream PC. The Beginning: Building a PC without even working, especially in a hispanic household had most of it’s disappointments. Being told your vision was only just a matter of time before I gave up on it, bummed me out a lot but I never gave up! Fortunately, after explaining that this will enhance my skill and passion in Hardware Engineering and Software, they allowed me and even helped me. After 1-2 months and camping outside of this Micro Center for a GPU (although I didn’t get the one I wanted but I was desperate), I finally finished. It booted up perfectly. Mid Journey: However… It wasn’t what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t near what I wanted my DREAM PC to be. After being hired for the summer, I made money and invested most of it to upgrading. I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to Ryzen 7 3700x. I knew my dream case was the Lian Li O11D Mini and with the help of a fellow Micro Center employee, I was encouraged on going through with it! I added case fans and an extra 16GB of RAM which was pricey, but very worth it haha. (A new SFX Power Supply to accommodate with the new case as well. The End of an Era/Issues: After installation of the Motherboard, I realized there wasn't space in the back from the case to mount my AIO. I panicked because I wasn't planning on using the included wraith cooler with my CPU. My AIO pump is so cute! "How could I ever let it go" I thought. I stared for a moment and realized I could install the AIO mount on the Motherboard and then screw the motherboard in. Once again, I was relieved from devestation. After installing everything in the new case, I booted it up. I noticed my hard drive would say 50% usage and it worried me a lot. I frantically searched it up but would be led to a dead end. I never really understood as to why it did that but I assumed it was just because of CPU change. A day later, I tried booting it up for my usual gaming mornings but it turned off in a span of 5 minutes. My worry escalated and I unplugged everything to avoid further damage. I ended up going to Micro Center for a Diagnostic and found out my CPU was nearly cooking itself so it would turn off to protect itself. I actually inserted the CPU pump wire into the wrong header which relieved me because I was afraid I’d have to spend more money on something. After thanking the technicians, I went on my way home to try booting it up and to my surprise, it was a successful startup. There was no powering off which relieved me even more. The only upgrade I have left is a 30 series as I intended to get in April but couldn’t. Though I’m totally okay with what I got (Asus ROG 2060 OC). I’m beyond grateful for my journey and anyone who helped me along with it. Ongoing possible issue: My CPU temp is usually at 55°C during startup but stays at 60-70°C during full load. Is this healthy? The people of Reddit say it’s normal temps from a Ryzen 7 3700x Thank you to everyone who sees this! You’re amazing, loved and appreciated! Have a great day <3 ☆ I try not to submit to the sterotype of pink gamer girls but how could I not?? It's so cute! Don't get me wrong, I sometimes alternate between more nature-y, earth-y colors or simple blues and yellows too lol

I had a hand me down machine that was alright for R6 Siege, but I wanted to build my own. I didn't really have a budget, but wanted to keep it reasonable. I think for everything, including Win 10 was right around $1,550. I mostly play Star Wars BFII, Insurgency Sandstorm, Skyrim, and FO4. I have also been playing Diablo 2 which still holds up even after 20 years. I will most likely be getting some stuff from Cable Mod, primarily the white cables to match the Snow Thermaltake case. All in all, I am very happy with my first build, and look forward to tinkering around with it more.

I built this setup to more comfortably game and work for long hours at a time. Before, I was gaming on a 60 hz TV which had horrible input lag and was super limiting. Now that I have a 1440p 144hz monitor, I can really take advantage of that true PC gaming power! I play various games and also create digital content. I normally enjoy FPS games like Apex Legends and Warzone, but I have been wanting to get into more RPG-esque games as well. When I'm creating, I use the Adobe suite, more specifically Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere. This build has made my workflow so much more efficient and powerful.
