This is my first PC ever, and I decided to build it myself to learn how it's done. It is primarily a gaming rig, where I play games such as Minecraft with shaders and Astroneer. I also do some rendering and video editing for my Youtube channel. I considered the parts list for multiple months, thinking about which parts I can spend less money on and for which I can spend more. Finally I decided on the 3060 for the GPU as it handles pretty much every task nicely and has a relatively low energy consumption.

A perfect example of something going well beyond the original intent. This all started from my corsair 500d case not fitting two 360mm rads, an AIO for the CPU and the rad for my RTX 3090 K|NGP|N hybrid card. I determined I needed a bigger case to fit them both thus came the 1000d. Plenty big enough right? Sure. Actually it was too big because hoses on the AIOs were too SHORT! Then I decided to research and understand what this 1000d case really was. Of course this thing is targeting custom water cooling. A year later we have the bohemoth.

I built it mainly for university and programming, but also for some gaming when I need a break. I've always wanted to build my own PC and I finally got the opportunity to do it over summer. In hindsight, I should've spent some more money on a PSU and gotten an 80+ Gold, so that'll be the first thing I upgrade in the future.

The best part about this build is not the build itself but the experience I had building it. I waited outside microcenter overnight for the 3080 launch and it was the most fun I had since the pandemic started. I am mostly a star citizen player and a run a large community called Borealis Industries. This PC has been an absolute beast for work and gaming. I would change the motherboard, cpu, and aio if i could go back though.

I am a converted PS4 player and absolutely love the quality and performance pc gaming has to offer. I primarily play call of duty titles such as Modern Warfare, Cold War and Warzone. I started streaming on twitch with my old custom gaming pc my brother built and I bought from but now that I have two pc's I am working on getting the stream set up again! This system build was my first ever pc build and it was very challenging but very rewarding. the hardest challenge for me was figuring out where cords connected and what needed to be plugged into the motherboard. Miraculously my bios fired up on the first launch!! I was able to get my graphics card by signing up for the app HotStock. They alert you as soon as a certain product you are looking for becomes available in stock and I snagged a rtx 3070 within just a few days! I themed my pc around msi and was able to find many of the parts I needed on sale at micro center. Very excited about this pc and i cant wait to build another!!

She was created mainly for gaming and streaming. I am a novice switching over from console gaming so I am still navigating through the games available. So far I've enjoyed completing Jedi: Fallen Order (Look Ma, I'm a Jedi now!) and occasionally I'll play Apex Legends. As of right now, I am planning on trying out Horizon Zero Dawn, Baldur's Gate 3, and maybe even Outriders. I would really love to continue to push the limits of this PC's capabilities, especially since I was lucky enough to get a 3080 from MC. Honestly in hindsight I wish I would have started this build earlier due to the pc component shortage. That way I could have avoided the battle royal that is pc part procurement. My main focus was to complete a white build which only added to the difficulty. I would say if you're completing your own build right now, be patient and keep in mind certain parts require different rgb software that won't sync up once booted up. One thing worth mentioning is it doesn't hurt to be "thrifty" on certain parts. I waited for some of my parts to go on sale before purchasing and even bought my CPU as an open box.

Upgraded from an i7-8700k, msi gaming pro carbon z390 motherboard and msi gtx 1070ti oc. Built for games like Sea of Thieves, Assassin's Creed Valhalla/Odyssey and Modern Warfare to name a few. Cpu overclocked to 5.1ghz while GPU is running on stock speeds. Perfect for what I was aiming for. Playing on Msi gaming monitor 1ms response time 1440p at 165hz refresh rate. This is my second build I've done so far and though I'm no expert, I'm definitely digging it so far.

PC 2 I made for my spouse to work on and also play pc games with me. Most of the games I play are found on Steam, Blizzard, Epic Games, LoL, Valorant, etc. I'm a OIF/OEF Vet myself, my teenage kids wanted to get into PC gaming (they're "upgrading" from consoles/Fortnite) and I come from an automotive repair background so putting together a PC is trivial in comparison to an engine or fine tuning suspension for an auto cross track. Anywho, future upgrades to include the new 6800 XT or some 3080's were available but I'll deal with having 5700 XT's for now as a place holder. Almost returned both these NZXT cases (still within 30day window) and buy 2 new Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini cases + 12*LL120 case fans but too lazy to take apart both PC components JUST to have the NEW case.

James in Westmont, IL was amazing in helping me talk through some of my ideas. I love Microcenter. Here is a link to my PC on youtube, (https://youtu.be/Z0sr5fQY9cs https://youtu.be/KxD6K993FrQ ) as well as its current parts list: Lian-Li der8auer 011DX MidTower Case i7-10700k - 5.2 GHz locked all Cores at 1.4v Asus Rog Strix z490 F-Gaming Motherboard 32GB (4 x 8) G-Skill TridentZ RGB 4000Mhz - CL15-15-15-36 at 1.5v NZXT Kraken x73 360mm AIO (6 total fans in Push/Pull) Aorus Waterforce Extreme 2080ti w/ 240mm AIO Watercooler (4 total fans in Push/Pull) Corsair RM1000i PSU 5TB Total NVME PCI-E Storage: 1TB Samsung 970Evo Plus Boot 2TB Sabrent Rocket 2TB Inland Premium + 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD and 128 GB Kingston HyperX SSD + 8TB WD Black External 7200 RPM USB 3.0 6GB/s Backup-Game Drive Watercooling setup: It took a LONG time to customize the Lian-Li Dynamic 011 to accept the x73 Kraken 360mm AIO placed with the tubes going down - The reason for this is due to having two AIO radiators. By mounting the 360mm Rad upside down, there is no chance for air pockets to form inside the waterblock. All air migrates to the top (which is the bottom) of the radiator and stays there. This is the same effect as having the radiator mounted at the top! *However I wanted the radiator placed BEHIND the 360mm opening in the case, so ONLY the 3 fans are on the inside (mobo side.) To do this I had to spend hours hand grinding the case down to allow for room for the 2 AIO water cooling tubes to clear. Besides sweat and tears, there truly is blood inside that case... from my knuckles! Not only is this a cleaner look, but the 3090 will fit and clear the QL fans on the front of the x73 Kraken, because the radiator is mounted in the back. - All four fans on the x73 360mm Kraken AIO radiator have been replaced with 2 x Corsair ML (non-RGB) Pro 120mm fans on the backside of the case in push, and 2 x Corsair QL RGB 120mm fans on the front in Pull. This rad is intake. My Gigabyte Aorus 2080ti Waterforce Extreme with 240mm AIO watercooler has also been modified. The two stock (and utterly terrible) Aorus fans were removed from the radiator and replaced with 2 x Corsair ML RGB Pro 120mm fans on top in Pull and 2 x Corsaire QL RGB 120mm fans on the bottom in Push. This is mounted on top as exhaust. This has allowed me to boost lock the GPU at 2.145 Ghz at 1.05v completely stable. I can play 98% of games on the market at 4k HDR with Ray Tracing and DLSS maxed out while never dropping below 60fps. This is a 9900k with a custom water cooling loop made with mainly EK parts. My first time water cooling. The inspiration for this build was a video on LTT youtube channel where Linus built his first desk pc. I decided to do something a little different with the placement of all the parts within the desk. The motherboard try is at a slight angle to show off the motherboard and the GPU mount is in front of it to show off the 3080 that will end up in it. I plan to add purple cable extensions to hide the ketchup and mustered generic cables.
