My previous gaming computer served me well for the past several years, but having to lug an EATX case down the stairs to my VR setup got tiring. For this build, I decided to downsize to mini-ITX. Thus, Vapor was born. Vapor lives a double life. On my desk it serves as a traditional gaming PC for games like Doom, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Rocket League. Plug in the Oculus Rift and it becomes a beastly virtual reality rig that can handle the most demanding titles like Half-Life: Alyx, Boneworks, and Blade & Sorcery. While many small form factor PC cases can be difficult to work in, the NCASE M1 proved to be much easier than anticipated. Some small cases are built on "sandwich style" setups dependent on riser cables and restricted airflow potential. The NCASE M1 is the perfect middle ground between size and cooling performance, and doesn't require any riser cables. The popularity of the NCASE M1 on enthusiast forums like /r/sffpc led to a wealth of knowledge and guides. One person even made a spreadsheet comparing several different cooling solutions and their temperatures. Finding and assembling all the parts was made much easier with the community's expertise, and I couldn't be more thankful. While I'm currently content with the thermals, I know I can do better. In early 2021 I want to replace the cooler on my GPU with the heatsink from an Arctic Accelero Xtreme III, and fit two 120mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fans underneath. This mod will decrease GPU temperatures dramatically, and help me fully realize my big air ambitions for this build: Big fans, big airflow, cooler temperatures. I'm also considering upgrading the motherboard to one that supports front-panel USB C ports like the one on the front of the my case. Lastly, I thought about replacing the side panel with a tempered glass one. However, the "RGB lights shining through holes" look is really growing on me.

Built this system primarily as a hobby and for PC gaming including (but of course not limited to) Assetto Corsa, Rocket League, Battlefield, Squad, and Insurgency Sandstorm. The CPU and GPU are a bit dated now so I am planning on a CPU and GPU update once the 3000 Nvidia series is released.

I built this PC to replace my laptop - I initially thought I could get a slim gaming laptop and use it for both gaming and productivity, but ended up having to turn it in under warranty 4+ times for some catastrophic issues. This build now lives on my desk and is super quiet while under load playing Tarkov or while hammering away on PCB layout & CAD modeling!

I originally built this pc just for the sole purpose of having a challenge. I have never been a pc before this one I've only ever used MacBooks through high school and college. I wanted to actually turn this into a hakintosh but once is was finished I kinda fell in love with it as it is! I use it for daily computing, research, the occasional gaming (GTA5, fortnite, cod) and music library organization. I dj most every Friday and Saturday night using a MacBook Pro as my go to gig computer, this workstation is perfect for staying at home containing most of my music library. I plan on upgrading the gpu and cpu down the road but for now this works way better than I planned on originally. I have a massive amount of storage for how small this thing is and plan to add more. total I would like 6-8 TB.

This is my secondary PC used exclusively for running my HTC VIVE in my VR play space. It was named after the virtual world in the book Ready Player One, and features a retro "vaporwave" color scheme. This was actually my first foray at building an mITX system and was a fun adventure to embark on. I actually documented the build process back in January on my YouTube channel called GTech (https://www.youtube.com/GTechOfficial). I absolutely love talking about anything and everything tech-related, with a main focus on PC hardware and gaming PC builds. Some of my most-viewed content is actually the trips that I've made up to my local Micro Center location to purchase hardware as I tend to go with several friends and make it an all-day adventure. This is just one of my systems that have been featured on my channel so if you'd like to see more of it, I'd really appreciate it if you took a look at my channel.

My goal with this build was to make a small future-proof machine that I could stuff massive amounts of processing power down the line. This is used for schoolwork, gaming, and video editing. My hopes are to eventually upgrade the CPU and GPU, to show that I can cram at least a AMD 12-core + 2080ti into this small of a PC. At this point, the X570 board is a waste, but again, I plan to upgrade to 3rd gen Ryzen eventually. And yes, the blower graphics card is loud. Really loud. And hot. I also want to change the case out, maybe to a NR200 when that comes out, as well as put a custom loop on it (?). The RAM and fan configs have changed over time, but it always has been 16gb. One thing I really regret is getting the Vega 64. I have experienced awful artifacting and coil whine. Although the latter is inevitable, the artifacting was probably caused by my terrible undervolting skills. At times, it idles at 85 degrees Celsius. As I live in a small room with close to no air conditioning, my room easily gets up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit when the PC is on. If I were to do something different about this build, it would most certainly be to avoid Vega. But hey, it's a decent performing card!

I had been using a MSI gaming laptop for 6 years but now things have changed! This was my first mini-ITX build and also the first time using rigid tubing! It was an exciting build to explore liquid cooling and create a system for 1440p gaming. Runs many games really smooth on 1440p. such as World of Tanks, Destiny 2, GTA 5, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, COD Warzone, and... I'll need more storage space for more games. For future upgrades, I would like to add two 1TB SATA SSDS and if necessary another 1TB NVMe Drive. I like playing all types of games and look forward to having a large library of games to choose from instead of uninstalling and reinstalling all the time. Doing the PETG tube bends in the H210i was a challenge but it was so satisfying to utilize most of the space in a small case. I'm thinking of adding one of the dyes that came with the Liquid Devil when I drain the distilled water to install Noctuas in the front of the case; currently using Cougar 120mms. CPU and GPU temps at idle are 40-45C, as ambient is above 32C since I built this PC. At loads, temps range from 55 to 65C depending on the game. Undervolted the 5700XT and not OC'ing the 3700x. Little worried about the CPU temps being higher than the GPU at idle but I will continue to monitor it.

I could have gone with a dual screen monitor but one seamless 49" monitor is more aesthetically pleasing. Most of the budget was spend on aesthetics rather than performance due to the low demands of a trading platform. I believe that this setup is pretty well rounded for other task including light gaming. Parts and specs of this build is pretty mid-range running a full AMD build with plans for future upgrade if necessary.

I use this PC for gaming as well as general tasks such as programming, photoshop and surfing the web. The games that I mainly play include LoL, Valorant, Minecraft and Stardew Valley, which are all pretty light games so I don't need anything too top-of-the-line. I feel like I have tailored this PC to fit exactly what I need for the things that I do.; My build is not overkill where I waste money on performace I don't need, but it also isn't too cheap where my PC can't keep up with the things I do. My most recent upgrade was my processor and ram. I upgraded from an Intel i3-6100 to an ryzen 5 3600 and 8gb ddr3 ram to 16gb of ddr4. Drastic improvement at a great price. One part of my PC that I did spend a little more money on was my PSU. I feel like investing in a good quality PSU will keep my PC running without issues, and it is also something that I don't plan on replacing any time soon. I am looking to do more video editing and 144hz gaming so I think my next upgrade will be a better graphics card. I am also considering adding an m.2 drive for more storage and faster r/w speeds. Any suggestions on good parts for upgrade are welcome :). The message that I want to send with my PC build for first time PC builders is to know exactly what you want to do with your PC before picking out parts. This will help you budget your build so that you are getting the best performance without wasting money on overkill computing power that you do not need!

It did its job, but it was starting to fail, and honestly, it was so slow and the tiny cooling fan was really high pitched and loud. After my love of building reignited with my own system, I decided to finally do something about my parents' system. Also, they help watch my kids when my wife and I are busy, and it's important to have a system that is snappy and responsive in Windows or YouTube or Netflix Kids, etc. Building in the In Win Chopin is definitely a treat. It's beautiful and my parents love that it doesn't take up too much space on their desk. In order to get the side panel closed, I had to remove the fan shroud from the Wraith Stealth cooler (easily done by removing a single screw from underside of the heat sink and undoing four clips, though this isn't possible if the cooler is already mounted). This was my first time building in such a small enclosure, and hopefully it won't be my last! I still need to build a system for my eldest son when he gets old enough. Probably will stick to mini ITX so that I can teach him to take his system out and clean it when necessary.

The build is not shiny or colorful as some other builds but this rig is straight, simple to the point. It gets the job. This rig isn't only for gaming, but can be used as a powerful workhorse. This version has the improved RTX 2060 Super, so if you want to see the general performance of the build, check out the video linked and this PC will perform roughly ~15% better for gaming performance better due to having the 2060 Super. This also uses the NZXT H210i case and a Corsair SF600 power supply, which can be found at Microcenter and are just as viable for the build, otherwise the Lian Li and Seasonic PSU must be sourced elsewhere.
