This was my first custom rig, built originally for light gaming, but morphed into a much more complex and powerful build (and more expensive) that I originally planned. I may have sacrificed a bit in performance for aesthetic, as water cooling and high-end RGB components are not cheap. I currently play games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins Creed: Odyssey, Monster Hunter: World, the Dishonored franchise, GTAV, and plan on getting Cyberpunk 2077 when it releases. I am in the process of upgrading my GPU from the 980ti to a RTX 2070 Super, and recently upgraded my monitors from a 24" LG 1080p 70Hz and Asus 27" 2k 60Hz to dual LG Ultragear 27" 144hz 1440p monitors. Sadly, with the GPU upgrade, I will be converting from water cooling to all air cooling, with plans to add an AIO CPU cooler down the road.

I used to play on PS4 but wanted a better gaming experience. So I started saving and had enough for it in march and went to micro center to buy all the parts. everything was very easy to put together. I play competetive FPS games like Fortnite, Rainbow six, Valorant and CSGO. I get 144 FPS easily in all games on ultra settings. I also play games like GTA V and RDR2 which i get around 60 FPS in the open world and 100 FPS in buildings. One thing i would've done different is to of went with AMD over Intel for 6 cores and 12 Threads rather than 6C and 6TH. My upgrade would have to be a I9 9900K because its still a beast processor for gaming and content creation. I would also not have to upgrade my MOBO like i would a 10 series Intel or AMD CPU. Over all it is a very good gaming build not the best for streaming but i get good FPS for competitive games and have had no problems so far.

I made it for gaming at the same time I made it for school and I always used a laptop so this was a huge upgrade for me, I had to get all of the money on my own to build this PC. I love to play Grand Theft Auto Five and other games like Farming Sim and lots of other Sims. I like to maybe upgrade my CPU or my GPU or get new fans if I get the money or sell my pc and then recreate a whole new one with a bigger budget.

As a graphic designer with a dying MacBook pro, I desperately needed a replacement for work that could render without lagging and hours of waiting. After a while, I also decided that I wanted to game on that computer, what's the point of having two graphic cards if you won't play a couple of games. Plus, everything looks so impressive on a 5k screen, so crisp! I needed specifics parts that were compatible with Hackintosh; it was a lot of research but fun! This was my first build with a glass panel, and I felt it looked a little sad and empty. Since I also needed a place to store all my little Disney creatures, they all ended up inside it (temperatures are still surprisedly low)!

I built this purely as a gaming PC, but I also use it to stream on Twitch. It can handle everything and anything nowadays, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Rocket League, Valorant, Death Stranding, you name it. The Aorus Xtreme 2080 Ti is a showpiece, so I got a Phanteks vertical GPU mount off Amazon to complete the look.

I built this gaming PC for several reasons: my old computer was getting old and slow so I wanted a major upgrade and I had never built a computer on my own before, so I wanted the challenge. I wanted a computer that is ready for next gen games like Cyberpunk 2077, including ray tracing, and aesthetically I really like the open case concept. I currently play mainly RPG titles that are 5 years or older (Witcher series, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series) but I have tested Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Artemis with Ultra High settings, and it performed flawlessly after tweaking the GPU overlock a bit. Overclock specs: 5Ghz all cores@1.28v Cinebench score of 5043 at 73 degrees C max temp (did very well with Timespy GPU and CPU Tests, Tomb Raider Benchmark, and Prime 95 but I don't have the exact numbers.) Cooling has been more than adequate with the highest temp spikes on Prime 95 but still below 90C. Challenges: I have never owned a water-cooled PC before, so deciding how to go about designing and implementing the custom loop was somewhat difficult. I decided to go with a custom loop over AIO for aesthetic reasons, better cooling performance, and again for the challenge. See my comments on "favorite feature" about the challenges of working with a triangular-shaped case. If you don't want to do a custom loop, AIO also looks nice with this rig as well. Using the iCue software from Corsair to control the RGB, Radiator Fans, and Water Pump. Easy to customize BUT buggy with fan speed and pump speed controls. One of my fans is currently operating at a different RPM than the others and the pump speed occasionally seems to dip. I am continuing to monitor to see if it's iCue or a short. Overall, I am thrilled with how this build turned out, both performance-wise and aesthetics-wise.

It is my daily gaming machine and conversation piece. I chose the Thermaltake open air design because it looks so much different than anything else. Although I originally intended to use a custom loop in the system, I chose to go with with the Dark Rock Pro 4 that just looks massive hanging off the board and outperforms most AIOs. I will likely eventually replace this with a custom loop. When that happens, the GTX 1070 will get swapped out for a water cooled RTX 3080.

I originally built this pc just for the sole purpose of having a challenge. I have never been a pc before this one I've only ever used MacBooks through high school and college. I wanted to actually turn this into a hakintosh but once is was finished I kinda fell in love with it as it is! I use it for daily computing, research, the occasional gaming (GTA5, fortnite, cod) and music library organization. I dj most every Friday and Saturday night using a MacBook Pro as my go to gig computer, this workstation is perfect for staying at home containing most of my music library. I plan on upgrading the gpu and cpu down the road but for now this works way better than I planned on originally. I have a massive amount of storage for how small this thing is and plan to add more. total I would like 6-8 TB.

I wanted to build a machine that would play games on high graphics, serve as my first programming machine, and display as a piece of artwork. Believe it or not, this was my first self built pc. I play Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II, Warcraft III, and Team Fortress 2. Some old favorites are Runescape, Maplestory, Neopets, Delta Force Black Hawk Down, and Dune 2000. I just began learning the Python coding language. I would like to be involved with the coding community to create tools that will improve the world. I wish there were more affordable RGB GPUs on the market. The few problems I had were identifying what screws went to what on the Thermaltake Core P3, figuring out where to plug the pump into the motherboard, and having to get a Molex SATA adapter for the pump power. I do not take any credit for the Aida64 Sensor Panel idea from which I followed a guide on YouTube. I did custom pixel the corn and mask on the sensor.

It all started in December 2018 - A conversation struck between a co-worker and I about what games we enjoy. He was persistent to encourage me to build a computer for myself and to get away from console gaming. Honestly I was actually considering buying a pre-built rig. January 2019 - I had been discussing the idea of buying a computer with a long-time friend who ensured to me that building a computer of your own is much easier than it seems and that it just takes time. Properly encouraged, I went out to Canada Computers and purchased an ATX DeepCool case for just under $100. That was the start of an experience that I would suggest to anyone who is interested, but thinks it would be difficult, to dive into the hobby and research as much as possible. It can be quite fun actually. That same month another friend of mine was encouraged to build a PC of his own and in the span of about a year we were able to put together each of our own custom rigs with a GTX 1070. January - April 2019 - I temporarily used my friend's components to play games as he was unable to have them at his house. I got used to the world of PC gaming as I did previously own a PC my parents had bought me back in 2003. Halo: CE was the game of choice. April 2019 - I had my friend's motherboard in my ATX case as I was unable to afford to progress at the time. Talk about bad timing for trying to build a PC. A week later he found his own case online for cheap and we transferred the guts over. Near the end of April 2019 - I was hired at a new job that allowed me to buy my remaining components one by one. As soon as everything was in my hands I went to my long-time friend's place and we put everything together! Ill admit, with a few issues. Thanks to the advice of Linus, Bitwit, JayzTwoCents & so many others, the build posted without any concerns. I was extremely excited to finally be able to join the PC Master Race family with my very own build and I have been slowly upgrading here and there ever since. June 2020 - I was able to pick up some white cables to replace the stock black cables. July 2020 - I invested into an MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super even though I am aware the prices might be fluctuating in anticipation of the 3000 series cards. Thank you for taking the time to review my build's history and where I have come to now.

The Inspiration: This is a build based on a wonderful car that I'd like to, and will.. get my hands on.. the Audi RS5 Sportback! I became really excited to model my build after this special car, shortly after the inspiration to merge the RS5's sporty looks with a powerful gaming computer came to me. This was my 3rd build, although the former(s) were built over 10 years ago. I am so happy to get back into building again, and was so proud to build something that could also match the performance of its vehicle counterpart too! As you can see from my list, I went with an Intel i9-9900K (OC 5gz @ 1.29V), to go with an EVGA RTX 2080Ti XC Ultra, and a 32Gb DDR4 ram kit from Corsair. More Details: The choice for the mobo was easy, since MSI is well known for adding carbon fiber accents to their product line.. which happened to match the interior and exterior styling of the high-end performance vehicle my rig is modeled after. In fact, one of my most favorite ideas for this build was to apply some carbon fiber wrap around the cable management bar (Thanks NZXT!), which matches the absolutely stunning inlays from the RS5 interior (go check it out on the Audi website if you'd like). The sporty RS5 logo/emblem was definitely my other favorite feature, which I felt added an extra level of aggressiveness to the interior of the machine. Also, Audi is known for their racing geckos, which represent the stability of Audi's Quattro AWD system (aaand also hopefully represents the stability of my overclock!), which I thought was a nice touch to the build as well. As you can imagine, this rig performs like a dream, and crushes mostly everything at max settings (including Minesweeper for those wondering). All in all, I am really happy with how it turned out, and I hope it inspires other motivated builders and DIY'ers in this PC Gaming community. Gaming is here to stay folks, and is exploding in popularity. Who am I kidding?! I want to build another! AND ANOTHER! Ahhh!! Can anyone else relate? lol.
