It's been over 20 years since I've messed with computers, and i wanted to build a desktop PC. I recently decided to wade into video production, so i changed my build plan from general mid grade PC to future proof video editing PC. The most challenging part was finding a sufficient GPU for a decent price. Because of Covid lockdowns and Bitcoin mining, the GPU was the most difficult to obtain. I got screwed on Amazon once and again on Ebay. Definitely shop around and be wary of shady sellers. In fact, I'm still waiting for my GPU. It's supposed to be here tomorrow!

This led me to learn more about computer hardware so I spent two weeks reading articles, manuals, and watching youtube video's so that I could learn more about the different components that make up a computer. After indoctrinating myself, I set out to build my rig with the intent of creating something that would help me compile code, run virtual machines, and lightly play video games (when I'm not studying of course!!). Since I was only interested in light gaming I didn't mind having a lower end graphics card. Also, considering the shortage of GPU's I was wiling to settle for any GPU that would render things on my monitor. Once the chip shortage mellows out and GPU prices start to normalize I will consider buying a better graphics card so I can play some serious games breh!! Even though I don't have a high end graphics card I'm still very proud of my build because it has a very powerful 12 core AMD processor, 32 gb of ram, 1 TB SSD, and a 2TB HDD. My 12 core processor helps me compile my code at a fast rate and the 32gb of ram gives me the ability to run memory intensive virtual machines in tandem with my host operating system. One of my favorite features is my SSD + HDD combo. I'm planning on keeping my coding files on my SSD so that I can read and write to them at a faster rate and the HDD will be used to store larger files like photo's, movies, and games. Even though HDD's are pegged as slower media, I've found that they can recall files faster when it's not used to hold my primary OS. This small technical loophole allows me to draw greater speed and performance from my HDD. Another great thing about this build is my Lancool II Mesh Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower Computer Case. Even though this case runs on the bigger side, it's size makes it very easy to install all of my components and makes it very easy to cable manage. Also, the two tempered glass side panels make it easy to reach in and make necessary adjustments. Other than it's size, this case has two amazing frontal stock fans that provide outstanding frontal airflow. Even though this case has amazing airflow, I may consider adding a radiator at the top of my case so that I can have air blowing down onto my horizontally placed graphics card. Building a computer during a global pandemic is a daunting task because their is a shortage of computer parts, however I don't regret this experience and I had fun along the way!!

I just wanted a good rig to game on, process photos or video content and maybe even do some 3D design work for my long list of hobbies. My intent was to make it nice to look at and I've never done a custom build before. No matter what i did the 3090 seemed to be in the way of showing off the nice looking X570. So I decided to vertical mount the card and so began the challenge. What followed was a lot of planning, trips to the hardware store and locating a brake to bend sheet metal that thick. Build FAQ: Custom made the bracket by hand, I have a 40cm link up riser cable twisted meticulously to reduce visibility. Also used a display port 90 adapter and two extension cables to avoid having my hdmi and Display port cables from tv coming through the case. (No loss in frame rate) Temperatures on everything runs from 5-10c cooler including the 3090. Hot air exits out the rear side of case and the top instead of blowing directly on MB. Also as a result of the 3090 not being in the way of the fans the M.2's and Ballistic Max also run a tad cooler.

Stealth is an all gaming and streaming PC. Packing lots of great parts like an NVIDIA 3080 And Ryzen 9 3900x. I play anything I desire on the PC from simple not high-demanding games like Minecraft all the way up to high-demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty Warzone, Forza, and even Assassins Creed. I'm planning to start streaming and become a YouTuber. It's always been my dream. My goal is to have 5k-10k Subscribers by the end of this year and build a great community and have a great fan base. I hope to make people happy even if it means it's a single person that smiles because I know that one smile could make that person's day and make them happy. Thanks to the help of my PC I hope to reach these dreams and make people happy and put out interesting and funny videos for people to watch. The reason I built this PC was that I needed an upgrade from my 2014 iMac that wasn't helping me get too far besides editing videos but the app would constantly crash which was very annoying. I also had a ps4 but I wanted to make the mouse and keyboard change and have better mechanics. The story behind this PC started last year when the pandemic hit. Most people were lazy and didn't think of ways they could change things but not me. I worked super hard during the summer to raise enough money to buy myself a gaming PC. I would wake up early in the mornings and go to garage sales. From there I would look for valuable items I could resell and make a profit from. After many months of hard work and dedication, I finally had all the money I needed to build my dream PC “Stealth”. This was also the first time I had ever built a PC but I did lots of research and watched many videos to know everything about PCs from simple things like what is and isn’t compatible to learning what everything does and everything that is unique about that part. For cable management, I think I did a great job for it being my first time there are barely any cables visible besides the 24 Pin and the ugly 12 to two 8 PCIe. But there was one problem when I decided to buy my parts I decided wait to get on of the new 3000 series cards that had been announced. I waited and when the day came they were released but were all sold out in seconds. This kept going on for months and months until 3 months later I was finally able to get a 3080 Founders Edition of BestBuy. The wait was long but 100% worth it. I hope with my hard work and dedication that I put into streaming and uploading videos I'm able to change lifes and help people be happy. That is the reason I build “Stealth” and is my one and only dream. Background Information: The reason I call my PC “Stealth” is because of the black, white, and grey colors that match the name “Stealth” and also because of how amazing the computer can run just like the plane named “Stealth”. The little lamborgini adventador was just for decoration I took it apart and spray painted it white and I also painted the interior seats white. It was a little touch to make things look a little nicer inside the PC and not be so plain for the inside. I built because my friends and family told me I couldn't they said it couldn't be done, O boy did I prove all of them wrong. Not too bad for a counsel player. So with this build I wanted to go above and beyond what my friends who are PC gamers had. So I opted for a 3090 and AMD 5900x along with 64GBs of Gskillz Trident Royal Z. It's safe to say I got the last laugh. With all these rare and hard to find pieces I can probably say that the hardest pieces were the Lian Li SL Unifans as I needed 10 total. I had to wait 3 months to assemble it plus I didnt want to pay scalper prices. The next step is to get matching monitors.

Had this idea for a gold/black 50th anniversary build as soon as I saw the 5700 XT Anniversary Edition. Built for combo gaming/productivity. First, I got all of the parts that weren't the CPU, GPU, and motherboard. I got the X570 motherboard on 7/7/19 at Microcenter, but was too late for a 3900X. I also ordered my GPU from AMD. After I missed the 2nd shipment of 3900X's in my area, I drove 9 hours round trip to grab one from the next closest Microcenter. Finally, I started to put it together. All went well until I tried to put in my radiator in the vertical radiator spot. It didn't fit because of a knob on the radiator, so I had to get a hacksaw and cut my case so the knob would fit. I have more info about this in my review of the radiator. Lastly, I put in my GPU with the included CoolerMaster PCIE riser cable, but it wouldn't work with PCIE 4.0, and my motherboard didn't include an option to revert to PCIE 3.0. After a long time of keeping my card in the horizontal position waiting for a BIOS update to include the option, I finally just spent $36 on a PCIE 4.0 compatible riser cable. I can never get the lighting right to get a good pic, so hopefully what I was able to do is good enough. Also, the RAM and motherboard are gold color, but they show up as white in photos. Thanks for taking a look at my build!

Haven't built a PC in about 8 years and I knew it was about that time. I just finished reading The Lord of the Rings and my imagination was in high gear having a theme in mind I started to brainstorm. I was going to start getting the pieces on November 5th when the new Ryzen Zen 3 CPU's were launching. Alas, I missed out on getting one on launch day. So my search began. Slowly, piece by piece I began to gathering my parts. Case, fans, PSU, MOBO, etc. Watching feeds on YouTube and following MC Discord chats just to try and find my final pieces. A friend luckily sold me the 3080 that he no longer wanted and all I needed was the elusive 5900X. I work night shift. So, one night after work I was checking the Discord chat and the line at MC had been somewhat small so I decided to take my chances at 4AM and wait until the store opened. Plus, someone had mentioned bringing snacks, and they totally did. Oranges and donuts, it was awesome! After 4 hours of waiting I was handed a voucher for a 5900X. That was a great feeling. Wide awake, mood instantly elevated, I had the final piece. 3 months to the day and with it being so difficult to get a new gen console, this couldn't have been done at a better time. It all came together in the end. With a lot of help from MC (thanks for the BIOS update) and perseverance "Strider" became King of all PC's (Well, at least in this house.) Cyberpunk at 4k 60 looks so good.

I had fun with this build. With it being my first water loop attempt. So far everything is working great. Temps while gaming are low 40'sC on GPU and mid 40's on the CPU. My fans(7) are the EK Vardar DRGB 2200 RPM paired with 2 360mm RADs from EK classic series. My main supply for my gear was Dallas Micro Center.

I was so fortunate that not only was a 5900X available to me on Zen3 launch day, but a shipment of 3080 FTW3s were also in stock as well. The build pulls double duty for gaming and as an audio recording/production workstation for my various projects. I tend to play FPS like Battlefield and Overwatch, city builders like Cities Skylines, as well as open world RPGs like Fallout, and of course, this was built in preparation for Cyberpunk 2077. On the audio side, I've never had a faster workflow as I do with this machine. It breezes through multi track audio rendering in Reaper with tons of VSTs open. Flipping from one 32GB Superior Drummer 3 preset to another takes ages on my laptop, but this can do it in 7-8 seconds. The only upgrade I'm looking at for the moment is just a nice set of cable extensions to clean up the look some more, and perhaps the Strix Ryujin aio if I want to push my 5900X further.
