Ive been bit by bit upgrading it since I first built it in 2019. He started off with a R5 2600X and a 3060 super and has since been beefed up to a R7 3700X and a RX6800. This machine is used for gaming, school work, and light video creation in my free time.$1,412.88 -

My PC is a gaming PC with a little bit of streaming and school work in mind while picking out the parts. I mainly play Rocket League but when I need a break from the game, I play Call of Duty: Cold War, and a little bit of Valorant. There aren't too many games I play with being on my college's Rocket League roster. I am also a content creator on Twitch and am going to school to be a content creator for my college. When I am not gaming, I am using this computer as my computer, whether it is doing school work, watching YouTube or twitch, or just surfing the web. As for upgrades, I would definitely upgrade my GPU when I get the chance and money. When I went to get my parts, back in late October 2020, my GPU of choice, NVidia GeForce RTX 2070, was out of stock, so I went with AMD Radeon 5700 XT. I would love to upgrade to one of the RTX 30 series but I am content with my PC's performance as of now. *disclaimer: while putting together my parts list for this showcase, I could not find my current GPU, it only has the GPU I planned on using*$2,218.06 -

I've been wanting to do so for a while, but after playing Total War and bingeing on various YouTube channels I finally did it. What started as a budget build (the original specs were at about $800) I was able to barter, hustle, and through some good luck found an RTX3070 at Microcenter. This will be mainly for gaming, such as OW, COD, and maybe eventually get MS Flight simulator with the full H.O.T.A.S set up. When my sister decides to build her computer to play SIMs, my future upgrades include: - Full sized ATX board - Possibly upgraded CPU (looking at the Ryzen 7) - Debating on an water cooling - Lian Li Unifan (cablemanagement is crazy on this; currently running 8 fans, 4 extra RGB lighting pieces)$1,556.53 -

It wasn't an easy process to do so please, bear with me. I've always wanted to build a gaming pc because of the performance and the content creator aspect that PC's made so easy. The main problem, however, was always money for one thing. As a 15 year old, if I wanted this to happen, I'd have to make it happen myself. So, me and a couple friends got together and worked to wash cars all summer. We made a good amount of money doing it also. At least more than working at a movie theatre or fast food restraunt. Finally, in November, my parents said they'd let me build it since my greats were extremely good. My local Microcenter in Marietta made it SO easy to help modify my design and to help me get the parts I needed for my build. Just walking around I was never short of a staff member asking me if I needed any help finding anything. On thanksgiving day, I built my pc with my brother who's 16, who has yet to build a pc since he didn't get enough money due to getting few hours at the job he got because of Covid-19. However, I'm determined to make content on either Rocket League or Cyberpunk 2077 when it drops on the 10th. However, for that I need a webcam and a mic, which is what I'd use the money for. However, I never would've been able to make my setup and pc if it weren't for y'all at Micro Center, so regardless if I win, thank you. Your staff members were so polite and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Micro Center! ps I know my setup won't look nearly the best out of these submissions but I'm working more over the holidays and I hope to fix that lol$1,725.90 -

So I saved up and built this. I do everything on this now, everywhere from watching lectures to working on large CAD files and playing games. I've been playing games that I can play with my friends, like Valorant, Phasmophobia, GTA, Rainbow 6 Siege and such. For these games, the 1660 Super can handle 1440 pretty well, so for my first build, I'm very satisfied. In hindsight, I think getting a 20 series card would've been nice, especially for 1440p gaming, but a lot of the budget went to the monitor (which I like very much and I can't even look at the laptop display now) and getting a worse monitor for a better graphics card wouldn't make much sense. Also, getting a semi-modular/modular PSU would've been a good idea. I think I cable-managed pretty well, but it wasn't exactly the easiest. The single RGB fan came with the case, and that is the only RGB part outside the little strip that comes on the Aorus mobo. I put it on the back as it's the only place I can see the lights from$1,441.99 -

I started off with a console and found myself hitting a cap on my gaming skills and decided it was time for an upgrade. I worked a bit harder and pooled some money together after watching countless youtubers build budget systems using Dell Optiplex's but upon agreeing to my dad to check out the micro center, I was shocked! I quickly sold my xbox and a few of my old games and shoes and headed down to micro center and found the best motherboard cpu deals! If I win, I will use the money to purchase the all new RTX 3070 which has a starting price of exactly 499$ and will be a huge step up from my GTX 1650 Super!$546.44 -

Over the years I have replaced video cards, RAM, hard drives individually but I've never built the whole computer from start to finish. The last time I purchased or even upgraded a computer was at least 8 years ago. A lot changed but many of the basics still remain true. Before buying all of the parts I began watching videos on youtube to research, parts, trends and favored brands. I watched guys like JaysTwoCents to ground myself in the do's and don'ts of building as well as what to do once the computer is built. For three months watched video after video and then began planning my purchase. I've always been a fan of AMD. Even when their trustworthiness wasn't as quantifiable as it is now I would buy their products and never regretted it. My AMD focused build has been great and I'm excited to show off my first full build. I wanted a build which would take my gaming experience up a notch or two while providing an better overall pc experience during general usage. I'm very happy with its performance and built it with the ability to upgrade this build in the future rather than rebuilding from the ground up. I could upgrade the CPU, GPU or even dabble in some lite water cooling. Currently I play a lot of Pathfinder:Kingmaker and Stellaris when I'm in a Grand Strategy mood. In hindsight, I am something of a minimalist, I didn't feel the need for lots of RGB (can get a bit gaudy) but after seeing my GPU light up along with the lighting on my motherboard... I might have considered playing with the lighting a bit more. Or gone for more more power in the GPU with the 5700XT. Did you hear that? Sounded like Tim Allen growling in far off distance. lol$1,307.23 -

My friend PJ had committed to his first serious PC gaming experience, so I helped him out by recommending the best parts for his budget and (mostly) building it for him. He likes playing Action Adventures like Risk Of Rain 2, Darksiders II, and the Tomb Raider games, so I think he has plenty of power to max out these games now. Really, he can run anything he wants and I am jealous! In the future, we want this machine to pair with the Steam Index and be a serviceable VR gaming rig to play Half Life Alyx.$1,919.91 -

Its purpose is mainly to game, but it also serves as my general use computer doing things like browsing, and I've also been learning some blender. I upgraded from my old PC to this so I could better play cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out, that's also why i went with the cyberpunk aesthetic. Personally I plan on upgrading the graphics card when the new ones come out later this year and I would add RGB but to be honest I'm not a big fan of it when I'm gaming in the dark though it would be cool to add some rgb behind the samurai head logo.$739.94 -

This is a gaming pc, which I built to replace and upgrade from my old prebuilt pc. Games I’ve been playing include tomb raider, fallout 4, jedi: fallen order, skyrim, red dead II, witcher III, and dishonored (1 and 2). I got a great deal on a motherboard/cpu/m.2 ssd bundle, and I’m really happy with all three. My old computer had a mechanical hard drive, and the difference in speed between that old laggy drive and an m.2 drive is unreal. I am planning to get a second ssd in the future, but for the moment my 1tb m.2 is working well and I’m not running out of space anytime soon. I can’t state enough how great the graphics card is, going from a gtx 660 to an rtx 2060 is like night and day, and I am absolutely in love with it! Overall this build has been fantastic - I didn’t have too much trouble figuring out how to put everything together, and I can’t find a single thing to complain about with how it’s been working. The wattage on my power supply is probably overkill, but that’s not exactly a bad thing. After building my own gaming pc, I don’t think I’m ever going back to prebuilts!$1,604.89 -
