This PC was bought on whim when I went to microcenter to do a return early on a monday when they happened to get a bunch of graphics cards and processors sent. Initially I was going to get a 3070 but then I noticed they had put out a asus 3060 TI tuf edition that was open box and over $70 off list price. It had been returned the night before by someone who wanted a 3080 I found out. It was still in its wrapper and unopened. Ended up also getting an AMD 5600x processor that had just arrived at the store. Most of the items including the ram, case and one hard drives were open box which really helps on price.

VR games: Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Star Wars Squadrons. Non-VR games: Rocket League, Minecraft. Theme of the build was chosen to complement my sim racing room. Painted the case and added a custom made control panel with a start button from a Lotus Elise. I really wanted an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, but there were none to be had, so the Intel Core i5 10600K was my second choice, but it's having no problems running all my games at decently high settings.

It wasn't an easy process to do so please, bear with me. I've always wanted to build a gaming pc because of the performance and the content creator aspect that PC's made so easy. The main problem, however, was always money for one thing. As a 15 year old, if I wanted this to happen, I'd have to make it happen myself. So, me and a couple friends got together and worked to wash cars all summer. We made a good amount of money doing it also. At least more than working at a movie theatre or fast food restraunt. Finally, in November, my parents said they'd let me build it since my greats were extremely good. My local Microcenter in Marietta made it SO easy to help modify my design and to help me get the parts I needed for my build. Just walking around I was never short of a staff member asking me if I needed any help finding anything. On thanksgiving day, I built my pc with my brother who's 16, who has yet to build a pc since he didn't get enough money due to getting few hours at the job he got because of Covid-19. However, I'm determined to make content on either Rocket League or Cyberpunk 2077 when it drops on the 10th. However, for that I need a webcam and a mic, which is what I'd use the money for. However, I never would've been able to make my setup and pc if it weren't for y'all at Micro Center, so regardless if I win, thank you. Your staff members were so polite and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Micro Center! ps I know my setup won't look nearly the best out of these submissions but I'm working more over the holidays and I hope to fix that lol

So I saved up and built this. I do everything on this now, everywhere from watching lectures to working on large CAD files and playing games. I've been playing games that I can play with my friends, like Valorant, Phasmophobia, GTA, Rainbow 6 Siege and such. For these games, the 1660 Super can handle 1440 pretty well, so for my first build, I'm very satisfied. In hindsight, I think getting a 20 series card would've been nice, especially for 1440p gaming, but a lot of the budget went to the monitor (which I like very much and I can't even look at the laptop display now) and getting a worse monitor for a better graphics card wouldn't make much sense. Also, getting a semi-modular/modular PSU would've been a good idea. I think I cable-managed pretty well, but it wasn't exactly the easiest. The single RGB fan came with the case, and that is the only RGB part outside the little strip that comes on the Aorus mobo. I put it on the back as it's the only place I can see the lights from

I built this computer after scraping together money after working for a year. I took any job I but it finally paid off. I built it mostly to game and do light video editing in my free time. I play Valorant and R6 most of the time and all other times I just chill and do homework. Originally I had a R5 2600 but after a year of use I upgraded and gifted it to my brother who was in desperate need of an upgrade. I know RGB isnt for everyone but I went for as much as I could because ill never forget what started my desire for a gaming computer; seeing a decked out computer at Micro Center that was filled to the brim with RGB.

I'm a prepress artist, so I need the real estate of a 34" monitor (3440x1440 resolution). Definitely a bonus when it comes to epic immersive gaming, which consists of mostly FPS and RPGs (Skyrim, Witcher, and the like). Also like simulation now and then, such as Kerbal Space Program, some racing and sci-fi/flight sims. Definitely MUST upgrade my video card, most likely to a 2000-series NVIDIA RTX card, but not ruling out high end AMD Radeon cards either. Some day.

I built Aurora Borealis originally to replace my console as the 30 fps in destiny started giving me headaches, I primarily play Destiny 2 or Elder Scrolls Online or the occasional game of call of duty with friends, I do stream some as well, i tend to have issues with quality of the stream if im playing Destiny and call of duty but other games I don't have too many problems with. The cpu I'm using is an i5 9400f that is just a stand in until i can afford an i9 9900k, the motherboard is a gigabyte z390 aorus pro wifi which i dont plan on upgrading anytime soon, I'm running 16gb of Gskill Trident z rgb ram clocked at 3200mhz, my case is the Lian Li o11 dynamic, my cpu cooler is just a cooler master hyper t4 I had from a previous build, the graphics card is an EVGA gtx 1070 (the blower style i originally planned on watercooling but my budget forbade that), for the power supply I went with the Gskill ripjaws PS850P 850w since I didn't want to have to upgrade the psu later, I currently have 2 SSDs(non nvme but 2.5in sata unfortunately) and 2 HDDs totaling to around 4.5tb, I have 3 corsair LL120s I plan to move them back to the top when time permits, 3 of the arctic 120s at the top currently and 2 on my cpu cooler. As for my upgrade path I already said the cpu, and I want to get some more LL120 fans so they all match as well as get some sleeved cables(originally planned to sleeve them myself but couldn't find wiring diagrams for my psu, if someone happens to find it let me know because I still want to sleeve my own cables), I hope to get either an RTX 3070 or 3060 later on, update to an nvme m.2 ssd for my boot drive to remove some of the cable mess, I might get another 16gb kit of trident z memory, I need proper led strips as I repurposed some cheap automotive leds that are controlled from a tiny remote, once I upgrade the gpu I am going to make another acrylic backplate as the one I have already made will more than likely not fit, I plan on getting an aio liquid cooler as well, I might remove my homemade decals and make some new ones but I'm not sure of the theme of the decals I want just yet or more specifically the font for the word aurora. at some point I want to make a custom loop system for Aurora with either light purple or blue pastel coolant. I have 3 different monitors and before anyone says anything I did it on purpose because they each have a purpose left=1440p for content creation, middle=high refresh rate 1080p gaming, right=small display for when I'm streaming old gamecube games. I have the razer Nari essential headphones, blackwidow lite with orange switches, and I do plan on making some resin keycaps, as well as a corsair Dark core pro mouse. I do have a desk boom mic but for the life of me I can't find the box so I don't know exactly what it is. I ended up adding extra dust filters since my computer is near my workshop. It also has an added external power button that I put on the far left of my desk. sidenote:I'm not a great photographer so don't expect too much there.

I use my computer every day, whether I am programming and doing school work, or playing games. I usually play eSports titles like CS:GO and Rocket League, as well as COD:MW, and of course some single player games like the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and looking forward to new releases like Cyberpunk 2077. My PC and internet connection are able to handle 1080p/60fps streams on Twitch, but I only stream occasionally or when my friends and I are doing a long gaming session. Obviously, my theme with the PC has been a black and white theme. I am a big Star Wars fan and it only made sense to throw in a bobblehead First Order Stormtrooper. I also added in the mini AE86 license plate because I was always a huge fan of the Trueno AE86 from Initial D, and now I own the newer Toyota 86, with a white and black look, so it add more of my personality to the build. If there was something that I would change about my PC would probably be the case. The S340 Elite has served me well, but I have been on the look out for a case worthy enough for the upgrade. So when the Lian Li Lancool II and mesh versions came out, I saw the great review and even better I could easily keep the same look. As you can see, my PC is already doing everything that I need and I have no complaints. So why did I enter the PC Showcase contest? Well, I have a friend, who will remain nameless, who has been live streaming and doing video edits for his YouTube channel on an FX processor and a GTX 970. My friends and I have been saving up money to surprise him with a new build for his birthday, which is coming up soon. (hopefully he doesn't see this so it can remain a surprise) So that is why I have entered this contest, so that hopefully my friends and I, can get more help in building a PC that would be a HUGE upgrade for him. If I do end up making it into the top 5, I want to thank Micro Center for giving me the chance of winning. Regardless on if I win, I plan on putting a simple video together on my Youtube channel that will have my friends reaction to the new PC we are able to afford getting him. Thank you for taking the time to read my entry, keep on gaming! Disclaimer: I edited the picture of the PC when it is on to try to match the colors of the RGB LED strips closer to what they actually look like

I started off with a console and found myself hitting a cap on my gaming skills and decided it was time for an upgrade. I worked a bit harder and pooled some money together after watching countless youtubers build budget systems using Dell Optiplex's but upon agreeing to my dad to check out the micro center, I was shocked! I quickly sold my xbox and a few of my old games and shoes and headed down to micro center and found the best motherboard cpu deals! Over the years I have replaced video cards, RAM, hard drives individually but I've never built the whole computer from start to finish. The last time I purchased or even upgraded a computer was at least 8 years ago. A lot changed but many of the basics still remain true. Before buying all of the parts I began watching videos on youtube to research, parts, trends and favored brands. I watched guys like JaysTwoCents to ground myself in the do's and don'ts of building as well as what to do once the computer is built. For three months watched video after video and then began planning my purchase. I've always been a fan of AMD. Even when their trustworthiness wasn't as quantifiable as it is now I would buy their products and never regretted it. My AMD focused build has been great and I'm excited to show off my first full build. I wanted a build which would take my gaming experience up a notch or two while providing an better overall pc experience during general usage. I'm very happy with its performance and built it with the ability to upgrade this build in the future rather than rebuilding from the ground up. I could upgrade the CPU, GPU or even dabble in some lite water cooling. Currently I play a lot of Pathfinder:Kingmaker and Stellaris when I'm in a Grand Strategy mood. In hindsight, I am something of a minimalist, I didn't feel the need for lots of RGB (can get a bit gaudy) but after seeing my GPU light up along with the lighting on my motherboard... I might have considered playing with the lighting a bit more. Or gone for more more power in the GPU with the 5700XT. Did you hear that? Sounded like Tim Allen growling in far off distance. lol
