I have been trying to build one for a while, but when I finally got the funds for it, I could not get what I wanted, which is why I have a used GTX 970 as my GPU. I have been playing Destiny 2 and Overwatch on my machine, but also use it for 3D modeling for my Mechanical Engineering classes.

Music and gaming have been my strongest passions since I was a kid and just about a few months ago I have been able to finally collide my passions into one whole sweet gaming/music recording rig. I am just a newbie to all of these stuff and I have worked relentlessly as a struggling full time college student to be able to achieve this grand fantasy of mine (adult jokes aside lol). I have a broad range of taste for both categories. For gaming the games I play are Monster Hunter World, League of Legends, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and a lot of free games from Epic because why not?. I am still saving up for some music softwares that I can use to create music and slowly getting more and more into the photography scene and Computer Science. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES YET TO COME!!

I've been wanting to do so for a while, but after playing Total War and bingeing on various YouTube channels I finally did it. What started as a budget build (the original specs were at about $800) I was able to barter, hustle, and through some good luck found an RTX3070 at Microcenter. This will be mainly for gaming, such as OW, COD, and maybe eventually get MS Flight simulator with the full H.O.T.A.S set up. When my sister decides to build her computer to play SIMs, my future upgrades include: - Full sized ATX board - Possibly upgraded CPU (looking at the Ryzen 7) - Debating on an water cooling - Lian Li Unifan (cablemanagement is crazy on this; currently running 8 fans, 4 extra RGB lighting pieces)

I've since added a Samsung 1TB 2.5" SSD, replaced the GPU & PSU, and transplanted the components into a Corsair 465X iCUE RGB Gaming Case. I do plan on upgrading the mobo/cpu in the near future but for the time being, it does everything I need it to do game-wise. I use this PC in coalition with a streaming PC which I will link a build for down below that also includes an older GTX 1070 TI for the NVENC. This PC was bought on whim when I went to microcenter to do a return early on a monday when they happened to get a bunch of graphics cards and processors sent. Initially I was going to get a 3070 but then I noticed they had put out a asus 3060 TI tuf edition that was open box and over $70 off list price. It had been returned the night before by someone who wanted a 3080 I found out. It was still in its wrapper and unopened. Ended up also getting an AMD 5600x processor that had just arrived at the store. Most of the items including the ram, case and one hard drives were open box which really helps on price.

VR games: Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Star Wars Squadrons. Non-VR games: Rocket League, Minecraft. Theme of the build was chosen to complement my sim racing room. Painted the case and added a custom made control panel with a start button from a Lotus Elise. I really wanted an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, but there were none to be had, so the Intel Core i5 10600K was my second choice, but it's having no problems running all my games at decently high settings.

It wasn't an easy process to do so please, bear with me. I've always wanted to build a gaming pc because of the performance and the content creator aspect that PC's made so easy. The main problem, however, was always money for one thing. As a 15 year old, if I wanted this to happen, I'd have to make it happen myself. So, me and a couple friends got together and worked to wash cars all summer. We made a good amount of money doing it also. At least more than working at a movie theatre or fast food restraunt. Finally, in November, my parents said they'd let me build it since my greats were extremely good. My local Microcenter in Marietta made it SO easy to help modify my design and to help me get the parts I needed for my build. Just walking around I was never short of a staff member asking me if I needed any help finding anything. On thanksgiving day, I built my pc with my brother who's 16, who has yet to build a pc since he didn't get enough money due to getting few hours at the job he got because of Covid-19. However, I'm determined to make content on either Rocket League or Cyberpunk 2077 when it drops on the 10th. However, for that I need a webcam and a mic, which is what I'd use the money for. However, I never would've been able to make my setup and pc if it weren't for y'all at Micro Center, so regardless if I win, thank you. Your staff members were so polite and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Micro Center! ps I know my setup won't look nearly the best out of these submissions but I'm working more over the holidays and I hope to fix that lol

So I saved up and built this. I do everything on this now, everywhere from watching lectures to working on large CAD files and playing games. I've been playing games that I can play with my friends, like Valorant, Phasmophobia, GTA, Rainbow 6 Siege and such. For these games, the 1660 Super can handle 1440 pretty well, so for my first build, I'm very satisfied. In hindsight, I think getting a 20 series card would've been nice, especially for 1440p gaming, but a lot of the budget went to the monitor (which I like very much and I can't even look at the laptop display now) and getting a worse monitor for a better graphics card wouldn't make much sense. Also, getting a semi-modular/modular PSU would've been a good idea. I think I cable-managed pretty well, but it wasn't exactly the easiest. The single RGB fan came with the case, and that is the only RGB part outside the little strip that comes on the Aorus mobo. I put it on the back as it's the only place I can see the lights from

I built this computer after scraping together money after working for a year. I took any job I but it finally paid off. I built it mostly to game and do light video editing in my free time. I play Valorant and R6 most of the time and all other times I just chill and do homework. Originally I had a R5 2600 but after a year of use I upgraded and gifted it to my brother who was in desperate need of an upgrade. I know RGB isnt for everyone but I went for as much as I could because ill never forget what started my desire for a gaming computer; seeing a decked out computer at Micro Center that was filled to the brim with RGB.

I built Aurora Borealis originally to replace my console as the 30 fps in destiny started giving me headaches, I primarily play Destiny 2 or Elder Scrolls Online or the occasional game of call of duty with friends, I do stream some as well, i tend to have issues with quality of the stream if im playing Destiny and call of duty but other games I don't have too many problems with. The cpu I'm using is an i5 9400f that is just a stand in until i can afford an i9 9900k, the motherboard is a gigabyte z390 aorus pro wifi which i dont plan on upgrading anytime soon, I'm running 16gb of Gskill Trident z rgb ram clocked at 3200mhz, my case is the Lian Li o11 dynamic, my cpu cooler is just a cooler master hyper t4 I had from a previous build, the graphics card is an EVGA gtx 1070 (the blower style i originally planned on watercooling but my budget forbade that), for the power supply I went with the Gskill ripjaws PS850P 850w since I didn't want to have to upgrade the psu later, I currently have 2 SSDs(non nvme but 2.5in sata unfortunately) and 2 HDDs totaling to around 4.5tb, I have 3 corsair LL120s I plan to move them back to the top when time permits, 3 of the arctic 120s at the top currently and 2 on my cpu cooler. As for my upgrade path I already said the cpu, and I want to get some more LL120 fans so they all match as well as get some sleeved cables(originally planned to sleeve them myself but couldn't find wiring diagrams for my psu, if someone happens to find it let me know because I still want to sleeve my own cables), I hope to get either an RTX 3070 or 3060 later on, update to an nvme m.2 ssd for my boot drive to remove some of the cable mess, I might get another 16gb kit of trident z memory, I need proper led strips as I repurposed some cheap automotive leds that are controlled from a tiny remote, once I upgrade the gpu I am going to make another acrylic backplate as the one I have already made will more than likely not fit, I plan on getting an aio liquid cooler as well, I might remove my homemade decals and make some new ones but I'm not sure of the theme of the decals I want just yet or more specifically the font for the word aurora. at some point I want to make a custom loop system for Aurora with either light purple or blue pastel coolant. I have 3 different monitors and before anyone says anything I did it on purpose because they each have a purpose left=1440p for content creation, middle=high refresh rate 1080p gaming, right=small display for when I'm streaming old gamecube games. I have the razer Nari essential headphones, blackwidow lite with orange switches, and I do plan on making some resin keycaps, as well as a corsair Dark core pro mouse. I do have a desk boom mic but for the life of me I can't find the box so I don't know exactly what it is. I ended up adding extra dust filters since my computer is near my workshop. It also has an added external power button that I put on the far left of my desk. sidenote:I'm not a great photographer so don't expect too much there.
