I played on a gaming laptop for awhile but it was time to build something for myself and call it my own. I built it to be able to play with my friends who also built their own PCs. Also there was quite the incentive when I realized the greater performance you get on a PC when compared to a console, especially when playing cross-platform games. I play Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, and Destiny 2 mainly. It definitely was a fun time putting it all together with the help of my roommates. I can definitely tell the difference from my Xbox One and my gaming laptop (which had a 1660ti in it). It runs very smooth and boots up super quick with the M.2 drive. At first I was a tad hesitant to get an AMD card because Nvidia is the top dog but so far, I've had no regrets as it has proven itself worthy for giving my the frames I want in games.

I built this so I can move from Xbox to PC and it's been a great experience so far. The games I usually play are Modern Warfare, Halo MCC, Minecraft, Doom Eternal, Beat Saber, and sometimes I'll play Splitgate, CSGO, Valorant, and Team Fortress 2.

Some of the games the games I play are Call of Duty and Forza which the Gigabyte RX 5500 XT handled perfectly during casual gaming at 1080p. For school, I have many programs running which is why the extra ram was very helpful. Some things I plan on doing in the future are switching graphics cards when the Radeon graphic cards come out or the new 3000 series from NVIDIA come out and adding a new B550 motherboard later down the line.

I bought a Macbook Air for my sister years ago and it seemed she was in need of an upgrade. We went for an under $1000 budget on this build. The main uses for the computer is to browse, watch videos, listen to music, and maybe light gaming in the future. I was lucky to grab an open box for the GPU and it works well! A 240mm AIO upgrade would be awesome for this build so it can help lower the temps compared to the stock cooler. I added an additional two NZXT case fans as intakes in the front; I wasn't using them in my build and works perfect for here!

Taking into account the current marketplace and limited availability of some choice products, sometimes it can be difficult to find the perfect parts for your build. Today, Matt and Jackson put together an amazing budget gaming build for you! They chose an Intel Core i3-9100F Quad-Core CPU, ASUS B360 PRIME mATX motherboard paired with a Gigabyte RX 5500 XT Overclocked and 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM from Crucial. The great value and performance of this build shine through in-game. Getting around 80-110 fps on mixed Normal/Medium settings in Warzone. Performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider was equally impressive, getting an average of 60 fps on high settings. Matt makes a serious recommendation to include 16GB of RAM in your next build as it's becoming the new standard for good gaming performance. Watch their video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuyqYjAyHLE What do you think about The Toasty Bros build? With the limited availability of some parts, would you wait for parts to get back in-stock or would you buy what's available now?

Previous machine was a FX6100/1050ti very low end MB... began to upgrade that rig with doubling the ram and a larger more contemporary HD. As that was coming to fruition i noted the new tech on the market. Since i haveNt really spent much on my hobby in a while, I decided to overspend, i.e. spend way more than i initially intended to and just basically built from the ground up. This is what i thru together. IM really excited about the case, plenty of airflow and a PSU shroud (sry...it's my first one, now i can get serious about cable management). Also, AMD has improved quite a bit since my last build experience (10+ years ago) and having a good experience with the FX was excited about the Ryzen line.... the 1600AF doesNt disappoint. UPGRAYEDDs PSU needs attention...600-700w EVGA (probably)....modular tyvm (h8 the "condiment" cords...i understand theyRe doing good things with braided maybe??) WouldNt mind eventually throwing in a newer/faster graphics card.... ...currently considering my options for the aftermarket CPU cooler.... thinking "be quiet" has some tight answers, prolly go that way. (AIOs have me scratching my chin tho...the case gives plenty of options even with the 2 additional 140mm case fans) ...and if i ever wanna get into OC'n...iLL be solid My bottleneck is essential my screen...iM using my 40in TV atm (not the dinky one in the photo) ...never had anything more than 60hz....and i would love to see if response time makes much of a difference to the old man's already seriously eroded gaming skills (....50 if anyone is curious)
