I initially planned to upgrade an old HP Compaq for gaming and to use graphic design software. I intend to play Overwatch, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, Splitgate and more. For graphic art I'm mainly interested in digitizing embroidery files and want to make stickers and pins. After getting some help, I realized it would probably be better to build from scratch. I would have loved to keep my original case since I painted it pink and cut out a Jigglypuff silhouette but the CPU cooler and graphics card were too wide to fit. I do like the sleeker look of the new case but in hindsight I should have waited until I had the parts before customizing the case. I did go back to the store a week after building the PC to get more RAM more for cosmetic reasons than needing an extra 16gb. It took about 5 hours to build because I would rearrange how the things were and connecting the rgb cables was a bit confusing. Cable management wasn't too difficult but involved a lot of reworking how I initially connected everything. Next time I'll work on Cable management as I'm building. In general, I should have done more research before starting the build process because it would not turn on when I had finished. I realized one of the power cables was not fully plugged in after checking the cables for everything else first. In the end, it was a fun project and I inspired my boyfriend to want to build a gaming PC for himself.

I mainly use it for schoolwork, audio production, light video editing, and some gaming when time allows. As of now it has about 1.5 terabytes of storage, which is filling up quickly. I use an ancient seagate barracuda 7200rpm HDD for mass storage, and I have an NVMe drive that I boot windows from. I don't overclock as I do not have a cpu capable of doing so. The build is meant to be flashy and ridiculous, even if it may be a mess of wires on the inside. I got my cpu and motherboard from my local microcenter when they had a discount on intel's 10th generation lineup. Ended up building a great computer from parts mostly from there, at a fairly decent price.

Complete Desc- (Purpose, Mistakes, Progress and Results) This build is based on a hp pavilion 590 office pc i got back in 2018 for cheap. As my first system, I preferred a prebuilt pc instead of a DIY because I did not had enough knowledge about pc building or in tech at the time. My goal with this pc was to upgrade it down the line for it to play games like racing sims, go casually in shooters and do some other slower paced games. I also planned to do some light productivity, aswell for work. But since I had a tight budget, I did my best with what i had which was just enough for a good used starter gpu and a few needed add-ons and adapters to make this all work as I later found out the prebuilt not being compatible with the parts in many ways. The results of doing all of this were questionable but surprisingly the pc worked and it did what I mostly wanted to do with the only major issue being how loose and flimsy everything was. Months later, I only did an upgrade to the storage with an Optane module to speed up the slow hdd storage. However, I wanted to make a big improvement on my setup as to be honest, this whole thing was a mess. So I started to learn more about diy and technical stuff of pcs that I did not explored before to come up with a more ideal build. When I got another good amount of budget earned, I did my most significant change and upgrade after a year later (on 2020) where I revamped everything from scratch to how it is shown in pictures. The previous motherboard, case and other unnecessary things were removed but the reusable items such as the processor, ram, hdd, optane, psu (bought as add-on initially) and gpu were kept. Rebuilding the pc with the proper resources and tools could not been easier, miles better than adjusting and making stuff work on my previous prebuilt setup. Although it still has some mis-perfections, I consider this an accomplishment and all the stuff I intended to do with my pc originally just work better overall now. I guess I should have chosen to do and learn diy in the first place lol. I put a picture of the original “build” to show where I started with this.

I have always been a gamer, ever since i first picked up an N64 controller. Ever since then i have played every single console that has come out to this date. But one in particular that i wasn't able to obtain was a PC powerful enough to handle major games. This year was finally the year. I decide go hard, or go home and bought only quality pieces. I wanted a Pc that could handle games that are to come out for the next 10 years. I don't want to have to spend another dollar on a console that is not at peek performance, because they want to be able to up sale me in the future. Well no thank you, I just up sold myself And now I am in love.

Taking into account the current marketplace and limited availability of some choice products, sometimes it can be difficult to find the perfect parts for your build. Today, Matt and Jackson put together an amazing budget gaming build for you! They chose an Intel Core i3-9100F Quad-Core CPU, ASUS B360 PRIME mATX motherboard paired with a Gigabyte RX 5500 XT Overclocked and 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM from Crucial. The great value and performance of this build shine through in-game. Getting around 80-110 fps on mixed Normal/Medium settings in Warzone. Performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider was equally impressive, getting an average of 60 fps on high settings. Matt makes a serious recommendation to include 16GB of RAM in your next build as it's becoming the new standard for good gaming performance. I wanted a PC that I could use for gaming, streaming, and editing videos. I mostly play first person shooter games and have played League of Legends. I also have a YouTube channel which I create vlogs to share my life with the world. With my love for gaming, I also decided to start streaming on Twitch. I had a lot of help from my friend when I was building this PC. I wish I knew how small and tight mini-ATX motherboards were. Even with my tiny hands, plugging in everything was kind of tough. In the end, I am really happy with my build. It allows me to be able to do everything I want without overheating or the PC slowing down. I eventually would like to upgrade my case fans and RAM to add more color.
