My last build was right after my daughter was born back in '09 with a Q8200 Core 2 Quad and molex fans. Kids are expensive and so are pc parts. I stopped gaming on the pc and I think it's time to get back in. So after over a decade, this built was meant to happen.$1,288.93 -

We rearranged out living room and now have all of our electronics in a minimalist tv stand. As a result, the odd man out was the bulky full tower desktop pc I had been using hooked up to the living room oled tv. But, to view the glass as half full, this rearrangement meant I got to do something I've always wanted to try. Namely, to build a complete pc in the same size as a gaming console. Performance wise, there were no real corners cut because I chose a case that accommodated a relatively large graphics card (EVGA RTX 3070). Temperatures aren't much of a problem because the kinds of games this system plays is pretty casual, such as my kid's current playthrough of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.$1,096.90 -

In the bustling town where I grew up, there weren't many options for computer enthusiasts like me. Sure, there were a handful of small computer shops scattered around, each offering a mishmash of components, but none could compare to the tech haven that is Microcenter. My journey into the world of building PCs began amidst these humble surroundings. Armed with determination and a modest budget, I scoured the shelves of these local stores, piecing together my first rig. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine—a testament to my budding passion for all things tech. As I tinkered with my creation, learning the ins and outs of hardware assembly, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more out there, something beyond the limitations of my small town's offerings. That something turned out to be Microcenter. The first time I set foot in that gleaming megastore, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Row upon row of pristine components stretched out before me, gleaming under the fluorescent lights. It was a paradise for any PC enthusiast, with shelves stocked high with the latest processors, graphics cards, and peripherals. But it wasn't just the sheer variety of products that captivated me—it was the expertise of the staff. Unlike the often clueless employees at the local shops, the Microcenter team were true professionals, eager to share their knowledge and offer advice on even the most obscure tech questions. Armed with the resources of Microcenter and the guidance of its knowledgeable staff, I embarked on my next build with newfound confidence. Gone were the days of settling for "okay" parts; now, I had access to the best of the best. With their help, I carefully selected each component, ensuring that my new rig would be a masterpiece of performance and reliability. As I sat back and admired my completed build, I couldn't help but marvel at how far I'd come. From humble beginnings in those small-town computer shops to the pinnacle of PC building excellence at Microcenter, my journey had been nothing short of extraordinary. And as I powered up my new rig for the first time, I knew that the best was yet to come. At its core lay the beating heart of my creation, the Intel i7 8700k, a processor as reliable as it was powerful. With its six cores and twelve threads, it was the engine that drove my digital adventures, powering through the most demanding of tasks with ease. Surrounding it, like loyal soldiers standing guard, were 32GB of RAM, a veritable army of memory, ready to tackle any challenge I threw their way. And nestled snugly within the belly of the beast was a lightning-fast 1TB SSD, its silent whispers promising swift load times and snappy system responsiveness. But it was the crown jewel of my rig—the RTX 2070 SUPER GPU—that truly set it apart. With its ray-tracing prowess and blistering rendering speeds, it transformed every pixel into a masterpiece, bringing my virtual worlds to life with unparalleled beauty and realism. Together, we embarked on a journey unlike any other, a journey into the heart of gaming and streaming glory. From the darkest dungeons to the farthest reaches of outer space, we traversed virtual landscapes with skill and determination, our every triumph and defeat broadcast to an eager audience of fellow adventurers. But it wasn't just about the games—it was about the connection. With my powerful rig, I streamed in crystal-clear HD, my every word and gesture captured with stunning clarity. And as I interacted with my viewers, sharing stories and swapping strategies, I felt a sense of camaraderie unlike anything I'd ever known.$886.96 -

Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. My objective was to build a rig on the premise of cost efficiency vs. having the right hardware to get the job done. The problem was temptation. Man that 4090 comes to mind! I did choose to go the AM4 platform's route though. It is a solid choice in my view because it is AMD's best product vs. price to date. Performance turned out to be really good as well. Although it is an older platform I'm still playing games like God of War, Cyberpunk, Doom Eternal, Horizon, and Call of Duty III at more than satisfactory levels. The graphics are still eye-catching and that 6800 XT is a beast and was a great choice for this build! Temperatures are great when gaming as well. I did stress test it with Cinebench R23 and AIDA64 and those results did not even approach borderline.$2,028.62 -

I've been wanting to build a new PC for quite some time now, and seeing all the Fractal North builds really pushed me to build one of my own. I set a budget of $1600 for this build and the build was about that much after taxes are included. I went for the white case because most of my furniture is white or wood so it fits in perfectly. I built this computer with the NVIDIA GeForce 3060 Ti, Ryzen 7 CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD to create a versatile powerhouse that can handle both gaming and creative tasks with ease. As a gamer, I'm drawn to titles that demand high-performance hardware to fully immerse myself in their worlds. With this setup, I dive into the latest AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Call of Duty: Warzone, experiencing smooth gameplay and stunning visuals at high settings. The NVIDIA GeForce 3060 Ti ensures that I can enjoy these games at high resolutions with fast frame rates, delivering an immersive gaming experience. Beyond gaming, I'm also a content creator, producing videos and streaming gameplay on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. The Ryzen 7 CPU's multi-threaded performance allows me to edit videos smoothly and handle streaming tasks without any lag. The 16GB DDR4 RAM ensures that multitasking is a breeze, whether I'm editing videos, streaming, or browsing the web simultaneously. In hindsight, one potential upgrade could be increasing the RAM to 32GB for even smoother multitasking and future-proofing the system. Additionally, considering the fast-paced advancements in technology, I might have opted for a higher-tier GPU if budget allowed, to ensure longevity and better performance in upcoming games and applications. Overall, this build strikes a perfect balance between gaming performance and content creation capabilities, allowing me to pursue my passions with confidence and efficiency.$1,195.94 -

My aging 1050 laptop needed an upgrade, so I decided it was time for a new system. I hunted for discounts aggressively: scoring free RAM bundled with the CPU, opting for B-stock fans, and snagging the case, PSU, and SSD on sale. Building the new setup was a breeze from start to finish. The H7 Flow case is not only beautiful but also spacious and enjoyable to work with. Even the B-stock fans looked brand new. My only complaint is that the a-rgb headers are inconveniently placed, making cable management a bit messy. The performance is impressive. The Sims 3 runs at an absurd 700-800 fps with all settings maxed out, while Ark: Survival Ascended, a more demanding title, sits comfortably in the 70s on high and epic settings. The CPU and GPU temperatures rarely exceed 60°C.$1,829.92 -

I built this to replace a 10+ year old gaming PC that was starting to show it's age. I mostly play older games like Unreal Tournament 2004, COD, etc., and wanted something reliable that would run smoothly on my 2K monitors. I also wanted to go RGB for the "coolness" factor (don't judge me) and provide some ambient lighting in the room while playing. In addition to the components listed below, I went with Corsair iCUE LINK QX120 RGB fans and a Corsair iCUE Link RGB LCD AIO because I liked the LCD screen showing system temps or pictures. I also purchased a custom 12VHPR cable with a right angle connection for the GPU and also plugs directly into the PSU (not an extender). The length on it is perfect so there are no sharp bends which is highly recommended with these HPR cables. These extra components added about $550 to the cost, so the total cost for the system was about $2,500.$1,938.94 -

Thankfully this wasn't much of a problem since the previous build was 80% empty space. At only 13 liters volume, the Jonsbo N1 case is a solid 2.5 mm aluminum alloy shell on top a 1.0 mm thick steel frameset with 2.0 mm structual beams. The heafty 8.36 LB metal data vault fits a Mini-ITX board, an SFX PSU, and five 3.5-in. SATA/SAS hard drives. Easy 100+ TB NAS and/or Proxmox VE in a compact 8.5-in. x 6.5-in. vertical footprint. My home office now runs on this one combined Proxmox NAS. It sports a Ryzen 5700G processor and a 4-drive ZFS RAID-Z1 array. Enough compute to provide basic services to a small network. The N1 with just one fan gets warm, so I'd recommend remove or change out the front panel for better airflow. And also it's got kinda industrial look that i was aiming for. But the installation was pretty elaborate and tricky. But perfomance is amazing so it was worth the trouble.$1,815.92 -

Case was great to build in and had no issues with MC or any of their parts. Good prices for the parts imo but the cooler was a bit pricey. Great MB with onboard WiFi for the B550 chipset. RGB was nice to setup and I really liked how the build came out. I could only attach one photo as all my other ones were taken in portrait mode and you can’t attach those here, but the photo I attached gives a good look at how it came out.$972.92 -

This is my sff PC that I built for general work but is capable of PC gaming! I wanted to go with a sff PC since space is limited and I liked the idea of having something compact but powerful. The graphics card was a carry over from my old PC but it'll probably be upgraded later down the line. Temperature isnt an issue as of now but with components demanding more power draw, temps are bound to rise as well. The solution? - custom fan mounting solutions in the near future!$1,529.97 -

When I was first thinking of building a pc, I only had a budget of $1200 . I love to Stream on Twitch and play intense FPS games like Warzone ,any call of duty game , Fortnite, etc. I thought I would've had to spend $1400+ for the parts I have, but Microcenter really hooked it up with the CPU bundle deal ! This Pc can run any game u want in max frames and resolution. I also wanted the color theme to be as much white as possible because I just think white looks really clean and it stands out more. The graphics card is really good for its price , I just wish it had more then 8gbs of ram. Its not a problem at all with the games I run, but the more GB's of ram u have the better obviously. I also want to upgrade to 32 GB's of ram instead of 16 in the future. My case I chose is really cheap but I love it a lot. Very easy installation and I like the stock rgb fans it comes with and the usb-c port on top is useful . The only downside of this case is that you wont be able to add any fans on the bottom. This Pc was worth every penny !$1,228.99 -

I originally built this comuter to play more casual games like Sims 4, Minecraft with RTX, Stardew Valley, and other emulation. Later when I entered my tech school, I began to use it to learn AutoCad, Blender, Revit, and 3dsmax. None of which I am good at yet lol. Starting last month I got a Quest 2 headset so I could play PCVR games using a link cable like Job Sim, Blade & Sorcery, Vivecraft, and Beat Saber. I use it for 3D printing and Silhouette Studio for crafting and stuff. I wish I didn't cheap out on my motherboard and storage because 1.5 TB isn't really enough anymore and my RAM is only running at 3333 Mhz instead of 3600. There also isn't very many USB ports and RGB headers for everything I would like to connect. Soon I am going to be doing a Snowblind mod whenever the monitor I ordered comes in the mail.$1,329.92 -

I built it in order to break into PC gaming a year or two ago and I've been very happy with it. I feel as though I could've made better choices back then and possibly have gotten a better build out of it but what can you do. I enjoy the occasional triple A and although I can't run them at 4K 120FPS I'm happy with just laying back and locking my frames to 60 to forget about it. The one area where I feel like it leaves much to be desired is in emulation as it really demand a lot from your CPU. Overall decent build could've made better choices but for what it's worth it's served me well.$1,080.90 -

This is a high end 4090 gaming build that is technically a "Budget 4090 Build" where I use some open box items and used components to save money. I am upgrading from a PC that is 9 years old and wanted to build a new one that will last me another 9 years. This is a gaming rig that can handle almost anything even though I mostly use it for productivity. Still in the process, but I will get back into streaming content online soon playing random games and drawing while hoping to do some game production. My goal is to fully utilize this PC with my 4K monitors. Besides that, it looks cool to look at! What a wonderful journey and it all started from buying the Microcenter Bundle!$4,090.69 -

I wanted to use minimal RGB, so the parts wouldn’t be extremely saturated with RGB, and so I could play more comfortably at night. I chose these parts with a $1300 budget in mind. There were definitely things I believe I could’ve done to improve the build, such as a PSU without daisy-chained PCIE connectors, but it’s the price you pay for a quality unit, I suppose.$1,213.11 -

Things have changed a lot over the years. I made some small changes with a case swap, new cooler, and storage back in 2021. Now it's been completely refreshed with a new platform and GPU. It's basically a new build at this point and I'm so glad with how it turned out. Also I 100% needed a GPU sag bracket, this card is HUGE. I mainly use this build for gaming and talking to friends. I recently just finished playing Nier Replicant and Nier Automata. Those were extremely fun! I also upgraded to a 1440p monitor which has been a crazy change. I bought the 7700x, RAM, and Mobo combo deal at Microcenter since that seemed like the most effective way to upgrade from my old 8600k platform. Saved a good 200 ish dollars there. As for my GPU, it is an insane improvement over my previous GTX 1070. Overall I'm happy with how this build as turned out!$1,470.90 -
