Combination of a workstation/gaming rig, with the secondary PC for some additional gaming for my youngest daughter, streaming, etc. Still need to get a GPU for that 2nd system, however. First PC builld/upgrade in about 12 years. Pulled out all the stops, burned an incredible hole in my wallet in the process. Still have to fine-tune the RGB (and get the appropriate cables for the Lian Li GPU strimer to work correctly). Getting there, however. Top monitors help manage a separate media server.

This is my 2nd ITX build coming from an Fractal Nano S ITX full custom rigid watercooled PC. Got the itch to upgrade (during a terrible time: chip shortage + pandemic) after spending some free time watching Optimum Tech's build vids on Youtube. Built this to handle Warzone, 3D rendering, and some video/photo editing. Wanted the smallest footprint possible and best performance. The NCASE M1 fit the bill and found someone local on Facebook Marketplace. Sourcing the right 3080 that was going to fit in the M1, was nearly impossible. But after a couple of CPU/GPU trades on r/HWS, found someone out in VA with the 3080 TUF. Drove 4 hours one way from NJ to pick it up. Figured it would be worth it than being on Reddit 24/7. I've had the build in a couple of configs, had a NZXT Kraken aio, stock fans on 3080, RGB Corsair fans. But decided against the three and went all out and deshrouded the gpu and paired with Noctuas, for a quieter build. The NCASE is enclosed so didn't really need the RGB from the Kraken AIO, and the software to control it is crap. Things I would have done differently? Not much. I sourced all the parts with a BIT of markup, but looking at the market right now, I'm glad I built it when I did, which was early 2021.

I am a Ph.D Mechanical Engineer candidate and I anticipate the use of other demanding software to prototype/research additive manufacturing. I went with a custom loop and emphasized radiator surface area for quiet operations even under full load. A future upgrade I would do is get vented panels to maximize thermal efficiency. The only thing I wish I have done differently is to use a stronger pump solution with a reservoir for my loop.

Main gaming PC, mostly for shooters (Warzone, Halo) and other random games (MS Flight Simulator, Forza, Subnautica, Satisfactory). This has been an evolving build. In early 2020, it started out as my first new build in over 10 years, with a 3600x (Microcenter sale!) and a reused RX 480. Then it got a 1660Ti, followed by a 5700XT, and finally, a 3070 Ti. It is also on its third case (Meshify C, Lancool II Mesh, NR200) and third motherboard (B450 Gaming Pro Carbon, X570 TUF Gaming, Aorus B550i). CPU got upgraded to a 5950X in November 2020. This is also my first SFF gaming PC, which was a fun experience (and a little more interesting and involved than my other builds that I have done since starting this one).

  I'm a videographer with the State Department and have always used either an iMac or Mac Pro for editing in Premiere and... I'm a videographer with the State Department and have always used either an iMac or Mac Pro for editing in Premiere and AfterEffects. After experiencing a forced reboot to Mojave because of driver incompatibility with Catalina, I decided I needed more control and frankly power. So I converted to PC. Since my primary workflow is in Premiere I decided to go with the Ryzen 9 3950X paired with an RTX 2060 Super SC Ultra 8gb. Since I usually travel for work (pre-COVID) I also needed something portable. Hence choosing the Sliger SM580. At 15.8 liters it's pretty compact and easy to transport when I need my workstation mobile. MOBO is a Gigabyte B550 I AORUS PRO AX, with Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200, SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 2280 1TB, Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 on the back. PSU is a Seasonic FOCUS SGX-650, 650W 80+, and to keep things cool I'm using the NZXT Kraken X63. OC is 4.35 at 1.15v with XMP enabled (Mem & FCLK @1600) This is my first build and fortunately, it has been put to work as quickly as I could get it running! Looking forward to maybe trying to go smaller... ;)
