Started using Plex for streaming personal media but filled up the 8TB external HDD pretty quick! Figured this was the perfect opportunity to get into the world of servers. I wanted something that was SFF, dead silent, had plenty of HDD bays, and still looked good to set on my desk. Didn't like the look of the Node 304 or NR200 but when the SSUPD Meshlicious came out, I knew I could make it unique and exactly what I wanted. Decided to upgrade my gaming rig during this process and use those parts for the server or buy used. Server GPU was omitted since I have my own gaming rig which can handle heavy duties if necessary. Check out both rigs in the last photo! Using unRAID has been a great choice of server OS and an amazing learning tool to get into servers! Since it's used primarily for Plex by my family, drives are spun down most of the time. Plex libraries are split up into different drives allowing for a single HDD spin up at a time depending on the movie/show. The system remains dead silent, even when 1 or 2 drives are in use. Currently have 3x 18TB Seagate Exos HDDs and 6x 6TB Seagate Ironwolf HDDs. Noise and thermals have been a non-issue. Even during 24-hour data transfer to all drives at once, HDDs never hit above 38 degrees. Incredibly happy with the way it came out and couldn't recommend the SSUPD Meshlicious enough as an insanely versatile and beautiful SFF case! Custom Mods: - Created a 3x triple HDD sled system within the GPU chamber for a capacity of 9x HDDs. Drives mounted using 3/8" foam material as vibration dampeners. Each HDD sled has 0.125" clearance between each other allowing airflow. Sleds are bottom-mounted w/ screws and friction magnetic mounted on top with absolutely no wobble without being turned completely 90 degrees. Able to unscrew from the bottom of the case and slide out the top for ease of adding HDDs. - Thermalright AXP-90I w/ Noctua NF-A12x15 Chromax installed using custom 1mm steel rod. - 4x Arctic P8 PWM PST CO in rear HDD chamber using magnetic tape. - 8600k delidded (9900k delidded for gaming rig). - Corsair SF600 Gold w/ Noctua NF-A9x14 fan swap (Corsair SF750 Platinum for gaming rig). - Painted custom hardware matte black. - Added RGB last minute for extra server fps! This computer build is designed for recording videos, AI research, streaming, and gaming, with a Ryzen 5900x processor, RTX 4090 graphics card, and 32 GB of RAM. It can handle MOBA and FPS games like Dota, Overwatch, and CS:GO at the highest settings with smooth performance, and allows for AI research and experimentation with machine learning models. Built a new gaming/encoding/media PC rig to replace my aging 8700k/GTX 1660 rig. Went AMD this time - AMD R9 7900X CPU, AMD RX 6950 TX GPU, 64 GB DDR5 6000 Ram, 3 2TB PCI4 4x4 M2 SSD's (OS and APPS, Games, and encoding), ASUS X670-P PRIME WIFI AMD AM5 ATX Motherboard. 2 Additional PCIE USB 3.2 cards (I need LOTS of USB ports for peripherals and the 8 USB3 media storage drives - 125TB total and growing), 750w full modular PS, be quiet SHADOW ROCK TF CPU Cooler, low noise SHADOW ROCK case fans. Stuffed it all in a Silverstone Media PC case. Small compromises were made. Could not fit a liquid cooler so had to go with high efficiency air cooler (be quiet SHADOW ROCK TF) and extra low noise SHADOW ROCK case fans. Originally picked up an RX 7900 TX GPU but it too would not fit the case, so had to fall back to the RX 6950 TX Reference model (2" shorter). Everything fits pretty tight but the Silverstone case is really shitty for cable management, but it all worked out.$1,810.92 -

It was there I first noticed the "Extreme gaming Rig" giveaways. Despite my best efforts at winning what I thought was the pinnacle gaming experience. I was never able to win one for myself. Years went by and I started building budget systems. They got the job done but I was always anxious to jump into the next project. One day while I was planning out my next build and I saw this ridiculously over the top PC build on youtube. The type with an absurd amount of fans, RGB lighting, and a PSU large enough to power a small city. It brought me back to the lazy days when I was browsing through gaming magazines, signing up for anything with a free entry. I decided I had waited long enough; rearranged my budget and went to work. If I couldn't win that gaming PC I was going to build it. Chungus Ultra was born. At it's core it's a Gaming PC, but I use it's extra power to stand up VMs, RDP for my Apple stuff, and to send/receive phone calls. (I get Imessages on Windows through bluebubble server/app) and to a lesser extent control my Hue smart lighting. The system initially had an RTX 3080, and I recently upgraded to a 4090 Strix OC. I pulled out the old Corsair lighting and replace it with Lian Li Unifans (Corsair RGB cable management is a NIGHTMARE), and I'm looking to replace my DDR5 memory kit. I will be throwing in a 1200w ATX 3.0 PSU once it arrives (yay cable management!). In one of my pics the fans are reversed. I'm aware, I was testing something and they have been fixed.$7,209.52
