I originally built this pc just for the sole purpose of having a challenge. I have never been a pc before this one I've only ever used MacBooks through high school and college. I wanted to actually turn this into a hakintosh but once is was finished I kinda fell in love with it as it is! I use it for daily computing, research, the occasional gaming (GTA5, fortnite, cod) and music library organization. I dj most every Friday and Saturday night using a MacBook Pro as my go to gig computer, this workstation is perfect for staying at home containing most of my music library. I plan on upgrading the gpu and cpu down the road but for now this works way better than I planned on originally. I have a massive amount of storage for how small this thing is and plan to add more. total I would like 6-8 TB.

This PC was designed for gaming, coding, and general use at an incredibly high performance. Video games like League of Legends, Valorant, Fortnite, and CS:GO run perfectly with unbelievably beautiful graphics. Upgrades to the PC include expanding RAM capacity and integrating more RGB parts (particularly fans) for aesthetics. Please note that a PCIe WiFi card will not be a viable option for this build. A USB WiFi adapter will suffice for general PC purposes, but an Ethernet cable is recommended for serious gaming.

Before installing everything, updated to latest BIOS which adds AM5 AGESA 1.0.0.7b support, and so far system has been stable with RAM running @ 6000 MHz using the AMD EXPO profile. Only issue found is slow boot to POST (more than two minutes) when video output is from MB HDMI, but when display is connected to GPU, boot times are fast. AIO cooler is overkill for this CPU but I really like the aesthetics of it, and plan to add later the LCD display upgrade to the pump.

This is the gaming PC built around the Microcenter Ryzen 7 7800x3d bundle. The bundle contains the R7 CPU, 32GB RAM, and the Motherboard. For $499, it's unbeatable. I also sourced other components from MC while I was there. I had an MC associate help me pick out the parts based on my budget. It was a great experience shopping at MC. The PC is working great. It was capable of running any games I wanted smoothly.

This build started off very small, with a GTX 1070 pulling the load. Over time, as availability increased and more parts were available, the build slowly started coming together. Once I had secured a RTX 2080 with an included waterblock, I knew that I wanted to make use of it. I primarily built this PC to play games, as well as for general productivity and my computer science projects. I am currently a computer science major and the blazing fast speeds of the overclocked 5600X have really come in handy. // CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X overclocked @ 4.7 GHz GPU: EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra overclocked (+948 memory @ 7948 MHz, +110 core @ 2040 MHz) MOBO: ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) RAM: Crucial Ballistix 32GB 3600-CL16 overclocked @ 3733 Mhz Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow Black PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 80+ Gold Fans: 6 x EZDIY-FAB Moonlight RGB 120mm Disks: 3 x 256GB & 1TB SSD (Samsung 970 Evo Plus, AData SU600, Intel 760p, ADATA XPG SX6000) // CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro X Series XC7 RGB GPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro X Series XG7 RGB Rads: Corsair Hydro X Series XR5 360mm & 240mm Pump: Corsair Hydro X Series XD5 RGB 330 D5 PWM // To start off, I knew with the thermals that the water cooling provided, I wanted to overclock all of my parts. I started my path of overclocking first my CPU based on what I have seen in the community. I got the 5600X right when the CPU released. I remember I had multiple computers refreshing on Amazon on a counter, and after a few days I had finally secured one. Rest assured, I did not scalp and CPUs, and only used automation to get a processor for myself and to beat the scalpers. After a series of unsuccessful AIDA64 runs, I finally found the sweet spot, right around 4.7 GHz. Next came the memory, which was easy since 3600 MHz is already fast enough, and one step up was perfectly stable as well. People have had much better luck with the Ballistix line regarding overclocking, but I did not want to push it. Lastly, I began overclocking my GPU once I learned that I could mine for a good amount of money using my GPU. I got the GPU from my friend at a low cost (around MSRP), and wanted to make use of the waterblock that came with it. Overclocking my GPU was pretty easy using X1 Precision, as I could tell when something was wrong when the drivers crashed or artifacting began. I mainly made this PC to play games. I have played a fair share of CS:GO, Rainbow Six Siege, Escape from Tarkov (the most taxing game by far), Osu, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and much more. The game that I play the most is Minecraft; I am in the competitive scene in the Hypixel server (player vs. player combat), and am in the top 0.006% of UHC duels. I also co-own a very high-ranking and highly successful Guild (team) named Extorious. I love that I can use this PC to run multiple instances of the game when needed, or crank up resolutions and sharpnesses of an otherwise basic game. I also really like that I can record at high frame rates (for slow motion content) with this rig. I run a very small YouTube channel where I upload clips of my games. note - Minecraft username is SkywarsLobby. As far as case mods, the only thing that might even be considered a mod is adding carbon fiber tape along the exterior edges and PSU cover plate area. Total cost after all watercooling stuff is around $2,000. The only future plan I have right now is to add some sort of purple color to the coolant, though I am afraid of sedimentation.

Built in summer of 2020 to squeeze performance out of a moderate budget, replacing my old gaming PC of 8+ years. In the tech world, the second a build is completed, it's already at least a week outdated, so I was less worried about having the absolute top of the line hardware components available than I was about building a foundation that would not only be an upgrade to my previous rig, but also be something I could build upon and upgrade over time to make it last. I had also set a maximum budget of $2000, with a goal to stay closer to $1500. As such, many of the precise part choices between two pieces of hardware otherwise near identical in function (ie: brand of SSD, etc) were dependent on the fickle nature of sales at the time. Were I building this again today, certainly the exact models would be subject to change. That said, there were a few important components to this build that I absolutely would not compromise on. One of those is the case itself. I had never seen anything quite as innovative or, imho, genius, than the vertical setup of the Segotep Phoenix ATX. It's been come my go-to recommendation for ATX cases to friends since then, and I have never had a single reason to doubt my call on that choice over the year and a half I've used this build daily. It's specifically designed with airflow, tidy cable management, and sidestepping the issue of gravity as a strain on parts with modern graphics cards in mind. My choice of heat sink cooler choice hindered airflow more than I intended, unfortunately, as I didn't expect it to need to be installed with the fan facing a particular direction. However, it still has really solid airflow and does a truly impressive job of keeping things cool and dust filtered out. The Noctua fans were another part I wouldn't consider anything else for. Over all, I'm proud of the result given the budget I had. I'm more than able to run games like Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, and Guild Wars 2 on their highest graphics settings (sometimes simultaneously), or even heavily modified Minecraft instances (300+ mods) with reasonable graphics and no issues. I can work with my art and design programs (Affinity, Blender, Paint Tool Sai) at workstation efficiency even when working with what I previously considered memory-intensive files. Eventually, I do plan to add an additional kit of RAM to bring it up to its full 64gb potential, and I'm currently intending to add another hard drive or so for data storage sooner than later, as 1TB is quickly consumed by large programs and game installs. Note for the internal parts picture: I initially had installed Adata XPG Spectrix equivalent RAM at the time of that photo, but later swapped it out for the current G.Skill RAM since I had a unique opportunity to do so, and the original RAM kits were becoming harder to source for later expansion.
