I built my first gaming PC with a GTX 1080 about 6 years ago using parts from Micro Center. I loved that PC, but I decided it was finally time to upgrade. Almost everything was replaced, except for the case. I bought my parts from Micro Center in Denver again. I had to squeeze the massive 4080 in there with the 52mm wide radiator, but couldn't be happier with the results.$3,042.87 -

I have destroyed laptops with certain games I play, so I needed an upgrade and to get my laptop back 😂. I do plan on getting my Master’s Degree within the next year or so, which I do plan on using the PC for school as well. It would be nice to stream and be a complete “gamer girl” one day, but you never know what the future holds.$1,082.92 -

I began building this PC with no prior understanding of what I was getting into. It was a journey of uncertainty and learning. As I delved deeper into the process, I found myself increasingly captivated, eventually developing a genuine passion for it. Initially intended as a college pc project, my PC build has since evolved, with a strong focus on enhancing productivity and gaming capabilities.$2,024.94 -

Last month I built a desktop for workstation applications to be used in a home-based small business. As it turns out, the machine might have been a bit to capable. A faimily member was impressed how well it handles batches of large files and afterward was pretty discontent with he older intel-based desktop pc. My diagnosis was a case of Workstation Envy and the only prescription was to build her another similar machine. This wasn't really designed for gaming but I have a feeling that the "-G" part of the processor, the Radeon integrated graphics, will end up being used on casual/cute games like the Sims.$694.94 -

Here is a compact, mid-tier powerhouse in the 5.6L Goodisory A02 case built this Fall season. And good PC deals made it possible to upgrade components to Ryzen 5700G APU, 64GB RAM and 2TB NVME SSD -- hopefully, later Winter, a GPU. Reddit warns the A02 runs hot. So, for that future GPU, there are 3D printed honeycomb side panels ready to remove excess heat. A new Gigabyte low-profile RTX 4060 should survive, and not turn the system into a hot power reactor.$724.86 -

I love DMZ on my PS5, wanted to try on PC as well. Used the $399 AMD 7700x bundle at Micro Center, got the 7900xt Hellhound as well from there for $749. This saturates my ASUS 1440p gaming monitors with 200+ fps. Even after I did some undervolting on the CPU to bring the gaming temps from 75 to 65 (personal preference). Lian li fan packs to match the blue of the GPU. Asiahorse sleeved cables for blue theme.$1,489.94 -

R7 CPU + High-end RX 7900 XTX GPU + 32GB Ram + Water Cooling. It can't get "better" than that! I am playing Baldur's gate 3 and Diablo 4 on this PC. And it has been performing very well. The CPU temperature during gaming sessions is around 65 celsius and runs super quiet.$2,179.94 -

The only parts reused from my last build are the Sabrent Rocket 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD and the Thermaltake Core P5 case. My previous build was water-cooled, but I am returning to air-cooled for this build. Water-cooling adds weight and the drain and refill maintenance cycle is taxing. My old temps were in the 40°C range under load with occasional peaks up to 50°C. This system runs at 60°C under load with peaks up to 70°C. I view this as sort of a "sleeper." Not a lot of RGB or fluff, but with an AMD 7800X3D CPU and Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, it runs everything as well as can be run .. today. My last build lasted four years before it couldn't run the latest games fluidly. I'm hoping for around that with this one. Check back in four years.
