Nearly all the parts were purchased at my local Micro Center in Marietta, GA. So far I have no complaints about anything. So far the system has been great for gaming and general usage. The system is ideal for 1080p gaming, running all my usual games very well.

My previous experience on pc building was just helping family members save money on their PCs. Since I never built myself one I finally took the leap of building a good gaming rig on a budget. With main focus of playing games in 4K and VR gaming (Half-Life: Alyx!!!!!) Future upgrades: Ryzen 9 3900x or Zen 3 depending on features and pricing. Looking forward to the new graphics cards from Nvida and AMD., and will more than likely upgrade once the specs are available. looking to upgrade PSU in the future base on the new specs for the new ampere and navi cards.

I built this rig because I needed a better PC that could handle extreme CAD and gaming workloads. I used fusion 360, Prusaslicer and cura. I also play Fortnite, Forza horizon 4 and Minecraft along with many more games. There only parts reused from my old build are my storage (1+2 TB HDD) and my 250gb SSD as well as my GPU, a 780 from EVGA. I am planning on getting a 2tb Samsung 970 Evo plus and a 2080 ti or the 3080 ti when it comes out. I used the NZXT h510i case and an Asus B550-F Wifi as my mobo. I have a Ryzen 9 3900x and am using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 BE. I got the case in white and most of the other parts I tried to get in black. My RAM is Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 2x16gb with the light enhancement pack added so all 4 DMM slots were filled. I also have a pcie expansion card giving me more ish 3.0 ports and 2 type c ports as well as giving another usb 3.0 pink header to attach the cases type c put to using an adapter taking type a pin header to a type c header.

I built this pc to get into video editing, music creation, heavy gaming and streaming. I dont have any channels yet but im working on it. I got the idea to make a pc after watching bitwit and austin evans make custom pcs inside microcenter and when i found out i live only 1 hour away from microcenter i started planning my build, obssessively checking if motherboards were in stock (the board i was looking for kept getting reserved and sold out). Then one day i see they got a shipment and so i put the items in the cart and reserve them. I only reserved the motherboard and cpu because i was afraid they would sell out. So i planned a small trip with my gf to this store an hour away. At first i was just going to leave with the parts i reserved but walking into the store i saw an opportunity to grab almost everything (excluding graphics card more on that later) for a lot cheaper than i would get in other places and instantly instead of waiting on shipping. Luckily my brother upgraded his computer a couple years back so we had an extra graphics card laying around collecting dust so i decided to wait on the gc, insert the old asus r9 380 and keep looking at microcenter for a good time to upgrade. And thats what i would use this money for. I was looking at getting a rtx 2070 super but with the money i would be saving i can shoot for a 2080 ti! Thanks for reading -Billy Juarez Proud owner of a new pc :) -edit added powersupply to complete build isnt exact model but specs are the same added graphics card i would like to buy (to see full price of build)

My name is Nick Van Guth Aka Termuda Square and i am a Minnesota local and professional PC modder who works with companies like InWin, CoolerMaster, HyperX, Kingston Tech, Alphacool, ModMyMods and more doing product photography and making show mods for them. I also laser cut all my acrylic parts and bent them with a acrylic bender before paint, all logos and details are paint with stencils and air brush also 100% paint whole MOD. I develop software professionally, and my lifelong interest in gaming has lead me to play with game development as well. I was a fairly early adopter on the Ryzen bandwagon because they improved software build times, as well as UE4 shader compile times so much. As you can see I have a ton of storage. I run multiple OS's (Linux Mint is my primary, but I still have a Windows SSD kicking around), and have space for very large files. I chose the Enthoo Primo case because it was roomy - my HAF 922 was wonderful, but it reached a point where if I touched anything inside, a cable came loose and I had to be very careful when upgrading. The other reason I liked the Enthoo Primo is that it is one of the few cases on sale that still has front 5.25 inch drive bays. I have most all my storage (except the NVMe drive) in hot-swappable bays in front. And even better, the case has a magnetically-closed door so it maintains a nice, clean look. The video card is mid-range, but more than adequate for the work I actually use it for, as well as the video games I tend to play (a lot of indie titles).

I didn't know too much about building PC's nor did I ever have a gaming PC. After putting this together I have found a passion for building PC's now. I never heard of NZXT before and as I was doing some research, I fell in love with their cases. At the time of the build, NZXT came out with their new mobo, the N7 Z370. After seeing the mobo, I knew I wanted to build an aesthetically pleasing build with awesome performance. My main focus was form over function, so I sacrificed the GPU and got a 1050Ti. I also wanted to dabble in streaming, so I wanted to make sure the PC could handle the extra multi-tasking. As of today, I'm happy with where my PC is at. The only upgrades I'd consider is higher performing GPU, CPU, and possibly a custom loop.

This setup is a His/Her setup to reflect each of our personalities, favorite colors, and design language. It celebrates our individuality while also bringing us together. I submitted another build showcasing my rig. I know that pink can be a bit cliché, but it seriously her favorite color. I swear she bleeds pink For her first ever gaming PC, she built it herself, and even opted for a soft tube custom loop. She said her next Motherboard and Video card need to be white, to better match her case and reflect the pink lighting better. Like my build, everything in her setup is Razer Chroma compatible, which is immensely important to me. All her peripherals are from the Razer Quartz Collection Our Main Game Currently: Call of Duty Modern Warfare. I am working on getting her into RPG games like Diablo III, & The Witcher, as well as strategy games like the Total War Series.

Being a Mechanical Engineer requires a powerful PC, but you also need some down time to game your life away. I use this PC for CAD, 3D printing and gaming mostly. This build started in 2018 and slowly evolved into what I have now. Before my recent upgrade I had i5 6600k, 16Gb Trident z rgb, Gigabyte H110m, and very basic black fans. I now have NZXT kraken x63 on my Reyzen 7 3800x, 32Gb Trident z Neo at 3600Mhz, MSI RTX 2060, MSI b450 mortar max, 3 Corsair QL120 fans and 1 QL140 fan allowing me to stay cool and look cool while being able to maximize gaming and engineering performance. In the Future im hoping to get a Nvidia Geforce 2070 super Founders edition, a z63 cooler, and new power supply with sleeved wires, but for now I can manage.

I wanted a PC that I could use for gaming, streaming, and editing videos. I mostly play first person shooter games and have played League of Legends. I also have a YouTube channel which I create vlogs to share my life with the world. With my love for gaming, I also decided to start streaming on Twitch. I had a lot of help from my friend when I was building this PC. I wish I knew how small and tight mini-ATX motherboards were. Even with my tiny hands, plugging in everything was kind of tough. In the end, I am really happy with my build. It allows me to be able to do everything I want without overheating or the PC slowing down. I eventually would like to upgrade my case fans and RAM to add more color.

My friend stumbled upon the case (some old Dell we think) at his work in a pile of scrap, the thing was covered in dust and oil it was a perfect candidate for what we always had in mind to build a scrapyard/craigslist sleeper with older budget parts and pretty it up with hardline watercooling to show it off at LANS. We hit craigslist and came upon some decent 2700k build in an old NZXT Phantom case that was priced cheap it had the same Gigabyte GTX 970 that we had kicking around so the thought of SLI came into our head instantly. Same day we hit the road drove two hours to some random craigslist deal where we thought the PC was clean and decent, to showing up to some PC covered in cat dander with a strong smell of ammonia but it booted and worked fine so we scooped it for a deal. After a good alcohol bath, the parts looked brand new. Fast forward to the build, we had to drill and tap all new mounts to fit an ATX board. Cut everything out of the case we didn’t need like drive bays and cut cable routing holes into the case for the PSU wires. After mocking everything up the motherboard and graphics cards fit well but we really didn’t have a lot of space to work with to fit a radiator big enough to cool two 970’s and a 2700k. We opted to go for a straight tubes and 90 degree fittings loop for the CPU. We ended up having to mount a 120mm rad to the side of the case and cut two big square holes, one where the motherboard mounts and to the back of the side panel so the air could get out. Fitting the pump/res was also chore having about 2mm of clearance between the reservoir and GPUs. After getting everything mocked and plumbed for the watercooling we stripped the case sandblasted the inside. We wanted to keep the dirt and oil stains on the panels for kind of a patina look. After a basic primer and black paint. Then went on to a project of depinning all the PSU wires cutting the wires to length and sleeving with some AlphaCord Colonial Blue and Black. Didn’t realize till then how long it takes to repin and sleeve a whole PSU (Never will do that again). After wiring everything up and cable management the build went smooth. I did have doubts that a 120mm rad would be to small to OC a 2700k, but it stays cool with a 5GHz overclock. Best part of the build is we stuffed RGB’s into the front plastic part of the case so it kinda catches people off guard at LANs to see some dirty old pc with RGB’s.
