Covid caused me to need a new rig for home, couldn't find all the parts I wanted locally so I drove up to Tustin and purchased all these parts from MicroCenter! first full complete build with awesome specs ( vs medium build and upgrading) First AMD processor in years, and I love it. Just finished Death Stranding on a new monitor with 144hz, amazing game. I added a lego tower at the end of my GPU to stop the uneven sag, and the lego figures are keeping a watch on things. I am debating on selling the 2070 super for the new RTX cards coming out.

"A Warchief deserves better.", I'd often say to myself, in front of bewildered strangers, before I politely but sternly asked them, to stay out of my personal conversations. Just rude. My next PC would be named the Warchief, as his older brother the Frozen King was getting older. He was a beautiful i5 3750k with a crazy GTX 970 and 16GB of fantastic Crucial DDR3. He ran WoW and was my squishy for many a raid. But alas, and alack he was showing his age and the time had come, where my finances allowed me to splurge into what would become my first custom loop uber PC of Death and Chest Hair. I wanted to finally be able to hit those Ultra Settings and laugh wildly into oncoming geese as it stayed above 60fps, way above 60fps. So came the phrase I would repeat to myself when I would inevitably try to talk myself out of getting the very best and settling for mid-tier again. "a Warchief deserves better." Lok-tar Ogar my brothers and sisters. Lok. Tar. Ogar.

After building a custom loop for the first time with my son I decided I wanted to give it try myself. I wanted the challenge of building powerful ITX computer, I like the smaller form because it can fit neatly on my desk like a piece of art. The open air cases are always interesting because it leaves everything exposed which makes it a challenge to make everything look nice as well fully open to your imagination. The main components went in easy however this definitely wasn't an easy build with the long tube runs and trying to fit the water pump and reservoir in a tight space. I definitely had to go back to MicroCenter for more tubing and keep telling myself I should try again but I'm please with how it turned out. I tried to stick majority Corsair for this build, really like their leds and software. I choose a founders card because I felt it was a good fit and I like them visually. In the end I finished a build I'm really proud to display.

Back in 2014 I got my first proper gaming PC. Then it was just low end, bought by my parents, built by person at the store. All midrange economical parts. Since then I've been pretty hooked into PC gaming as a whole. Previously I had a gaming laptop so going from laptop to desktop was a huge change, so big I wondered how on earth I was using a laptop for so many years. Fast forward 2019. I've now graduated from college, got a job, and have money for once in my life. I'm still all the time following youtubers like LinusTechTips and whatnot and always just following the latest tech, always seeing glamorous PC builds. From watching those videos everyday for years, I always wanted to feel the awesomeness of a proper high end build. So it was a dream of mine to build something that would be a gaming beast and a huge upgrade from my previous build as well. I wanted to go pretty much all out, no compromises but within a reasonable budget as I'm just not loaded with cash. I had to save up for this for well over a year. I started buying things slowly overtime with all my peripherals like my keyboard, mouse, chair, table, and stuff. Last piece was going to be the main PC itself and monitor upgrade. I bought things with the idea in my head, one and done. Like if I buy this, I'm not going to want to replace it at all. It was exactly what I would have wanted in my dream scenario. Then came time where I was ready to buy, and Ryzen 3000 was about to launch. I've been doing months of just looking at PC parts and watching youtube reviews of every part so I knew exactly what I would want. I've been watching many build videos, even bought PC Building Simulator so I can practice building since I didn't want to have someone else build my pc for me. I went to Microcenter right on launch day, July 7th and bought myself a Ryzen 3900X, with a brand new x570 motherboard, fancy new pcei gen 4.0 5gb/s m.2 ssd. I got the works, then two days later I picked up the brand new RTX 2070 Super on launch day and got the monitor to go along with it. Certainly can't afford a 2080ti but that gpu was powerful enough and at a good price point where it wasn't terrible performance per dollar. I didn't go overkill with any part of this PC, everything I use 100% to the fullest. I game almost everyday on it. I like to stream as well on occasion. I want to make youtube videos on it. I use it for school and work. This thing just flies through everything I throw at it. I love it. Any changes I would make to the build would simply be adding another 16gb of ram to it. I'm for sure going to buy the new RTX 3080 and plug that into my PC. I'll eventually add in another m.2 ssd eventually and one that'll be even faster. I also wish to add in a good standard ssd as well, my current standard ssd in it is unfortanetly dramless which I didn't really know about at the time, and I feel like when running games on that it acts not as well as an ssd should. I wish that my cpu cooler and the fans with it would sync up with my other devices, also my mouse and speakers so it would be all one light sync.

I use my computer every day, whether I am programming and doing school work, or playing games. I usually play eSports titles like CS:GO and Rocket League, as well as COD:MW, and of course some single player games like the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and looking forward to new releases like Cyberpunk 2077. My PC and internet connection are able to handle 1080p/60fps streams on Twitch, but I only stream occasionally or when my friends and I are doing a long gaming session. Obviously, my theme with the PC has been a black and white theme. I am a big Star Wars fan and it only made sense to throw in a bobblehead First Order Stormtrooper. I also added in the mini AE86 license plate because I was always a huge fan of the Trueno AE86 from Initial D, and now I own the newer Toyota 86, with a white and black look, so it add more of my personality to the build. If there was something that I would change about my PC would probably be the case. The S340 Elite has served me well, but I have been on the look out for a case worthy enough for the upgrade. So when the Lian Li Lancool II and mesh versions came out, I saw the great review and even better I could easily keep the same look. As you can see, my PC is already doing everything that I need and I have no complaints. So why did I enter the PC Showcase contest? Well, I have a friend, who will remain nameless, who has been live streaming and doing video edits for his YouTube channel on an FX processor and a GTX 970. My friends and I have been saving up money to surprise him with a new build for his birthday, which is coming up soon. (hopefully he doesn't see this so it can remain a surprise) So that is why I have entered this contest, so that hopefully my friends and I, can get more help in building a PC that would be a HUGE upgrade for him. If I do end up making it into the top 5, I want to thank Micro Center for giving me the chance of winning. Regardless on if I win, I plan on putting a simple video together on my Youtube channel that will have my friends reaction to the new PC we are able to afford getting him. Thank you for taking the time to read my entry, keep on gaming! Disclaimer: I edited the picture of the PC when it is on to try to match the colors of the RGB LED strips closer to what they actually look like

Mostly PUBG , Overwatch , Ready Or Not, GR:Breakpoint. It was Built with mobility/flexibility/power in mind. It's small enough to take to LAN Parties or a friends house. Running this thing is my 5700XT. The reason I opted to go with this vs an nvidia card is I wanted to truly stick to the RED theme. Aside from that my LG Panel is Freesync and I didn't want to run into compatibility issues using Gsync over Freesync. On this MINI-ITX Board is 3TB of total SSD Storage 1TB nvme and a 2TB SSD. I still have one extra nvme slot on the back of the motherboard should I want to add another nvme drive. @ 3440x1440p it runs butter smooth for almost all games. The screen is wide enough for me too that I can downscale to 1080p in windowed mode and run xsplit on other side for streams @thedarkdade

I'm actually submitting this build while my girlfriend is laying on the hospital bed in front of me having her first contractions going into labor. This is one of the main reasons The Kraken was built. I wanted to have a quick home PC that would able to handle major video edits for our daughter and family growing up. I also enjoy playing games from time to time and if you aren't on max settings, well you aren't playing it right! I look forward to this PC serving my familys home video edits and my gaming habits for years to come.

I built this computer to game, edit my photography, and create 4k video content for YouTube or clients. I mostly play Rocket League (GC), CoD Warzone, and Fall Guys. I'm about to start my own YouTube channel to teach what I've learned on photography and videography, but I've have been creating content for other channels that aren't mine. It's been a dream of mine to give back to the YouTube community because I've learned so much there. I've swiss cheesed the antec 900 case to better work with the spaghetti from the powersupply so that most wires won't get in the way of airflow. Most cable management is from the perspective of what you can see through the case-window. I've also "modified" the hard drive cages to accomodate the ssds/hds. I no longer even bother to look down at the case and have disabled all fan led lights. Case has been through 2 major upgrades (from q6600+5850 to e3770k+1060) and it's about time for another. ;) I got the 3770k overlocked to 4.3ghz and it's still decent in overwatch / most games with the 1060. If able to purchase upgrades, I would probably have to go with new a new intel processor/motherboard, ram + psu combo.. then would probably have to upgrade my graphics card after all that as well.. which is basically why I haven't upgraded in awhile.

This is the first PC I've built and have slowly been upgrading it as time passes and I get more and more into PC building. This build has had a great journey and still uses some of the original parts I started with! The main purpose behind my build was for me to be able to have a computer strong enough to handle my 3D design software (Capture) I use for my designs (I'm a Lighting Designer). I have been able to design some very cool projects off this build and it has also doubled up as a decent gaming rig when time allows!
