Specifically, I had temps on my 5800x that were quite frankly unacceptable, often spiking over 90 degrees C while under heavy load from a video editing application. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II is one of the best reviewed cpu coolers and has made a significant positive impact on the cooling for this build. One thing I learned through this process is that there is more than one revision of the Ryzen 7 5800x cpu. Many online review sites demonstrate newer revisions of the 5800x run a cooler temperatures and at a lower power draw. So looking back on my purchases, I wish I had specifically bought only the newer revision of the 5800x.$2,044.92 -

In the mean time, I finished my education and entered the industry, which made that possible! :D Although this rig was designed as a high end gaming PC, the sole fact that I am now a full time employee means I haven't got much time to actually play :// However, I took the rig for a spin in some games (Cities Skylines, KSP, KSP2, portal 2, stalker series) at max settings and it runs flawlessly. When I'm not gaming, I boot up my second os and start playing with deep learning as well. I cannot complain, I have enough storage for the datasets, enough RAM and CPU for multiprocessing and GPU for weight updating. I've yet to hit a serious bottleneck :)) Since the rig wasn't overclocked (YET), I kinda feel that the CPU cooler is a bit overkill now. I also feel that installing windows 11 was kind of a mistake since there seems to be a miscompatibility with my NZXT CAM. All in all, though, I am beyond happy with this. It was the first time I assembled a PC from scratch and I adore it, the GPU is on a next level and shows no stuttering whatsoever (not even in the KSP2 early release!)$2,349.93 -

This was completed in July 2021. I wanted to create my first hard line tubing build, and wanted to try to make rgb look... This was completed in July 2021. I wanted to create my first hard line tubing build, and wanted to try to make rgb look good. So I went with a minimalist color palette to let the rgb shine, among the black, nickel, and clear components. I also wanted to try a vertical gpu mount, which lead me down the path of creating 3d printed parts as the stuck mount was unappealing to me. I also have included my fiber 10gbit nic behind the gpu, another factor that influenced my vertical bracket design. Lian Li provides the 3d model for my case freely, which made the prototyping phase much faster. In hindsight I wish I had incorporated a modification to the top cover plate to allow greater airflow, the system can get quite toasty with a few games like Cyberpunk. I work from home and game on the same pc, so I don't have any channel or such to promote.
