To prevent damage to your laptop and to ensure a long battery life, be aware of the following symptoms of a damaged battery:

• Warping of the battery case from heat exposure or overuse
• Cracking resulting from impact (dropping) or wear
• Battery is not keeping charged or drains power frequently
• Condensation on the computer battery compartment and/or battery case
• Corrosion or acid seepage

When the battery is not recharging, remove the battery from the laptop. The battery may collect excessive heat if connected to the laptop continually while the power cord is attached. If using a new battery, the battery needs to discharge and recharge fully several cycles before achieving its maximum capacity. To store a battery, keep in a sealed bag in a cool, dry place.
