Centrino™ is not a processor, rather it is a bundle of technologies designed specifically for mobile computing. The three components of Centrino are: an Intel® Pentium® M processor, the Intel® 855 Chipset Family and the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 network connection. The Pentium® M processor features speeds up to 1.70GHz and is designed for lower power consumption. The Intel® 855 chipset supports up to 2 GB of RAM, USB 2.0 and optional Intel® Extreme Graphics 2. The Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 enables wireless networking with 802.11a or 802.11b access points. All of these features are focused on performance with an extended battery life, which means smaller batteries and lighter and thinner notebooks.
