| Firewire (or IEEE 1394) is the standard for high bandwidth data transfer from peripherals to your computer. Firewire 400 (1394a) delivers data at 400 Mbps and the new Firewire 800 (1394b) transfers twice as fast. Because of its speed, FireWire is more suitable than USB for such applications as digital video, professional audio, hard drives, high-end digital still cameras and home entertainment devices. | |
