Tech Tip
Repair Mac OS X Disk Permissions
by rob
Ever have an application quit unexpectedly or not open up at all? Are your applications not remembering preferences? You may need to repair your permissions. Permissions are the way OS X keeps applications from doing things to files they shouldn't. Sometimes these permissions get messed up by applications or, more often, by installers. You can help those permissions out by going to your Applications>Utilities folder and opening Disk Utility. Select the First Aid tab, select your hard drive and click on Repair Disk Permissions button. Do this once a month.
